Study On Planning And Design Of Jiacheng Area In Yangzhou

Yangzhou Jiacheng area is typical of urban cultural site areas,not only faced with the requirement for protection and display of cultural sites,but also the need for development of urban functions and space.Currently,study on historical space of Jiacheng area is rare,leaving the development programs short of sufficient scientific support.Taking the realistic need of planning and design as a start,this paper adopts a multi-disciplinary approach and combines literature study with field research.With the research of the historical pattern as the breakthrough point,this study explores the historical and cultural value of Jiacheng area and carries out planning and design research.This study sorts out the history of Jiacheng area,summarizes its historical spatial information and concludes the four main problems facing the current situation,namely,insufficient conservation,insufficient display,insufficient cultural characteristics and insufficient links to sites around.Based on archaeological data,historical documents and topographic data,the location and the maximum range of the city walls in Song Dynasty are figured out,and the basic spatial structure are revealed.With reference to the construction norms for military cities in Song Dynasty and the specific shapes of Jingjiang city in Southern Song Dynasty,as well as related literature records,the possible spatial forms of city walls and gates of Jiacheng as a military castle are speculated.From the four perspectives of the urban spaces,canals,its historical and current regional status,the historical and cultural value of Jiacheng area are explored.Based on previous researches,the three characteristics of cultural sites and the current perspective and path of planning are analyzed,and the spatial perspective as the planning strategy of Jiacheng area is put forward.The study locates the Jiaocheng area as a key part of the Ancient Yangzhou city,a characteristic display area for Yangzhou military culture and an ecological area for sports and leisure,and formulates the balanced,integrated and scientific development strategies.The research puts forward the principles of properly displaying and focusing on the structure on the basis of ensuring the originality,completeness and stability of the site,and develops two kinds of development scenarios,of which the one in the short term focuses on the protection and restoration of the ontology and spatial pattern of the site,and the other on gradually adjusting the existing display projects in order to outstand the features.At last,five immediate action plans are put forward.
