A Study On The Conservation Of Zhenhai Old City Under The Control Of Historical Spatial Pattern

After more than 40 years of large-scale urban development and construction since the reform and opening-up,the remaining space in most historic urban areas of China has been fragmented and blurred.At the same time,with the continuous improvement of people’s understanding of the protection of historical heritage,the concept of "Integrated conservation" in historic urban areas has become a consensus,and the protection of urban heritage has been paid more and more attention in the planning in recent years.However,in the face of the current fragmented historical urban area,"The city is no longer what it used to be".How to embody the "Integrity" values of the historic urban area? And how do we protect them? All of these issues need to be rethought.From the perspective of historical pattern,this paper makes an in-depth study of the "Integrity" characteristics of urban space in ancient China,and summarizes the composition and elements of the urban historical spatial pattern.The study found that the historical spatial pattern of the ancient city plays a certain role in the development of modern urban space.And at the same time,it shows the historical and cultural characteristics of the city.Then,taking Zhenhai old city as the research object.Through the methods of literature review,field investigation,discussion and interview,historical map analysis,this paper combing the evolution of the city,excavating the intrinsic mechanism of evolution,and analyzing the historical spatial pattern composition of it.And on this basis,based on the historical spatial pattern,the constituent elements of the historical spatial pattern of Zhenhai old city in the current built environment are identified and evaluated.The study found that the historical spatial pattern of Zhenhai old city is still relatively clear now,the spatial relationship among the city,mountains and river is preserved.The historical boundary,historical axis and other structural elements all exist in the form of real objects or substitutes,and most historical streets still maintain the traditional spatial texture.Therefore,from the perspective of historical spatial pattern,Zhenhai old city still has the "Integrity" values.Based on this,according to the elements of the urban historical spatial pattern,this paper proposes some strategies for the "Integrated conservation" of Zhenhai old city,and provides a new feasible path for the "Integrated conservation" of the historical city in the current built environment.
