The Research To The Interior And Exterior Space Environment Of Facilities For The Aged In Changsha

The change in family structure and the drastic increase of the elders has rendered this country's traditional family supporting system incapable to meet the present need from the aged group,therefore,social institutions are expected to take over this difficult task.In recent years,institution supporting has come to be accepted by our society due to its beter medical equipments and health nursing.As an important part of the social security system in Changsha city,the nursing institutions still have got some things to be improved,compared with foreign advanced technical ideas,these nursing buildings or houses can no longer m eet the need of the aged group.We should pay more attention to old people's mental and physical characteristics,including environmental psychology and regional features.In this paper,the author first overviews the aging background and the the importance of nursing institutions based on an analysis of the hist ory of foreign nursing institutions and their current condition.Then,according to the investigations he made in person in the city of Changsha,and by comparison and contrast,the author summarises the problems existing in many nursing houses of the city.Next,the author sums up the characteristics of old people and works out a practical design principle,having taken into consideration the theory of environmental behaviorism.Finally,the author focuses on space design concepts,both indoor and outdoor,with regard to the features of Changsha city.He explains the terms as indoor space,activity space,public space and medical space,and etc,On conclusion,he suggests an optimization scheme for outdoor activity space,public space and landsape greening work based on a further study on indoor design of heating and color environment.
