Research On The Design And Application Of Interior Space For Elderly Apartments

Based on the current trend of aging in our society and the nation's aging data, how to take care of the senior becomes an important topic in China. The highly developed social economy in 21 st century has changed the traditional concept and mode on how to take care of the senior. The modern concept and mode of taking care of the senior pay more attention on comfort and personality of the elderly indoor living space than the basic life needs. The modern concept and mode stresses to accommodate the living environment to the physical and mental demand of the senior. The modern concept concerns more about whether the living environment is harmonious with the nature. The modern mode of taking care of the senior aims at elevating the happiness of the senior from the detail design.According to some design projects on taking care of the senior conducted at home and abroad, absorbing some advices from authoritative experts on taking care of the senior, it is concluded that the design of the senior apartment does not only pursue comprehensive facilities for the senior but also fully understands and cares the actual psychological needs of the senior, making suitable for different ages and different physiological stages of the senior. The modern design of the senior apartment does well in combining the concept of fitting the senior and lessing the aging. Comparing the senior apartment design examples and theoretical researches at home and abroad, this paper do the research and analysis on the senior apartment in Jinan and Weifang in view of status quo of senile apartment in China. After the research, this author finds the problems, analyzes and comes to the conclusion, finally summarizes strategies to deal with the problems. At the same time, regarding the psychological changes in the senior, the decay of physiological function and daily habits, the author does the analysis design principles of the senior apartment for the comport of the senior.This paper does the analysis from three aspects: the senior apartment of old space of the main activities of the space, the senior living space particularity principle, and ideal elderly apartment development mode. The special need of the senior apartment interior space has been analyzed. In order to meet the demand of the senior about the space, three-dimensional space and outdoor stereo virescence design are put forward to realize commonality and universal design with the employment of the main transport line and comfortable color. The particular requirement in management and design of the senior outdoor living space has been analyzed to satisfy safe and health need of the senior. The elements of construction of humanistic environment and the standardized mode of living space, are employed to create the dignity, comfortable, communication space and natural, human living environment.The highlights of this paper is to combine the foreign excellent design concept and examples with on the researches conducted in Jinan and Weifang to analyze and come to conclusion. Based on the research done in this paper, it is concluded that the design of the senior apartment should pay more attention to different spaces of activity and interaction for the senior to enhance the senior ‘s sense of belonging in the senior apartment. The design of the senior apartment should add new media way such as internet to the senior's lives to let the senior to experience the new era and provide another new ways for the senior to communicate with family members. In this way, the senior can enjoy the senior lives in the senior apartment and the family member of the senior can contact the senior through internet and feel the healthy and happy lives of the senior.
