The development of transportation industry can’t leave the contribution of thecontainer transport in the21st century. In recent years, the railway container transportdeveloped rapidly, and the proportion for which the container transport accounts inChina’s railway freight is rising every year. But at the same time, there is potential safetyhazard in the development, such as the container’s overload or unbalanced loadphenomenon brings no small impact. In the case containers is overload or unbalancedload, but not detected before carrying on the train. If the train’s center of gravity shiftedbeyond the limit value, it would cause serious accident of train derailment or rollover. Inorder to ensure the safety of train transportation, it must take overload or unbalancedproblem control at source. It means to take each container to overload or unbalanced loadtesting.In today’s international multimodal transport, there has not been using overload andunbalanced load testing device before loading. It only relies on the experience of workersto observe whether it is overload and unbalanced load by macroscopic. If it couldn’tprovide effective relevant data, it wouldn’t require consignors to open the container fortest and refuse to carry it. Thus it buried a safe hidden trouble to the transportation. Ininternational multimodal transport, therefore, it is necessary to install the containeroverload and unbalanced testing device. The container overload and unbalanced testing isa complicated problem. Professors discuss and research on this question all the time, andthe railway department had also introduced foreign equipments, but it did not achieveexpected effect. The purpose of this paper is to design a new type of container overloadand unbalanced testing device. It is adapted to the complex environment, low cost, easyto use, and has higher reliability and measuring precision at the same time.Firstly, this paper illustrates the background and significance of the research. Then itsimply sums up the current situation of container overload and unbalanced testing, and itsummarizes the research situation and development trend on the device of containeroverload at home and abroad. Then it introduces the main technical performance ofdevice, structure and mechanical model analysis. Finally, it analyzes error of the system.Secondly, the whole hardware divides into seven parts: weighing sensor module, theinstrumentation amplifier module, Zigbee wireless transmission module, main controlchip module, print module, display module, memory module, and this paper illustratesthem one by one. The content includes of the main parameters of components and thefunction of each module. Then, the paper introduces the software of the device in brief. It mainly introducesthe real-time operating system uC/OS-III in which the host chip embedded and thewireless module of Z-stack protocol stack. It explains the porting process of uC/OS-III,and then it summarizes each module program in brief. It lists the testing results andanalyzes results.Finally, the paper summarizes the design of the entire device, and points out wherethe system needs to improve.
