At present, the steel industry of China is facing the dual challenges of “internal worry”and “external troubles”,the domestic steel overcapacity and the rise of international trade protectionism. At this time, the launch of the “the Belt and Road” strategy provids a very rare opportunity for the development of China's steel industry, especially for steel “going out”.In view of this,in order to grasp the dynamic changes in the characteristics and characteristics of the steel trade pattern along the “the Belt and Road” from a global perspective, and to understand the changes in trade relations between countries along the route, with a view to providing a practical reference for China to carry out steel trade along the “the Belt and Road”,based on the theory and method of social network analysis, this thesis analyzes the pattern characteristics, the influencing factors and the export competition relationship of the steel trade network in 2008-2017 by using relevant network indicators,Louvain algorithms,QAP regression analysis method, etc. Finally, the thesis draws the following conclusions:(1)the overall density of the steel trade network along the routes in2008-2017 is not high, the network has a high clustering coefficient and a short average path, which means that the network shows the "small world" feature.(2)China,Ukraine,Russia,Turkey and India are the major steel exporting countries along the route;the steel trade network has the typical “rich club” feature in social networks, that is,most of the steel trade volume is generated between a few countries;the degree of differentiation of the network community is not very high, which indicates that the steel trade of the “The Belt and Road”tends to develop regional economic integration.(3)Countries with larger gaps in economic scale are more inclined to produce steel trade, and countries with similar geography and languages are more likely to produce steel trade, and the farther geographical distance and the greater institutional gap make countries less likely to produce steel trade;(4)China has strong export influence and has strong control over the steel trade channels between the countries along the routes. It is the core node in the steel trade network along the “The Belt and Road”.In addition,Russia,Ukraine,India and Turkey are the most important steel export competitors of China along the routes;the Southeast Asia and South Asia region are the main steel export competition areas of the United States,Japan,South Korea and China.Based on the research conclusions, the thesis gives the following suggestions:(1)strengthen trade cooperation between countries along the route, enhance steel trade links between countries and promote regional economic integration;(2)increase investment transportation infrastructure along the route, reduce the the cost of steel trade between countries;(3)strengthen political mutual trust and cultural exchanges between countries along the route, reduce the influence of political and cultural differences on steel trade between countries;(4)maintain China's core influence in the steel trade network along the route and further enhance the export competitiveness of steel trade.
