Influencing Factors Of Household Satisfaction In Household Toilet Renovation

As an important part of rural infrastructure construction,the transformation of rural toilets has certain significance in improving the quality of life of rural residents,improving the living environment of rural residents,promoting rural economic development and narrowing the gap between urban and rural areas.In order to implement the relevant decision-making arrangements of the "Three-year Action Plan for Rural Human Settlements Improvement" issued by the Central Office of the CPC and the General Office of the State Council on the "Toilet Revolution",as well as the "Opinions of the Central Committee and the State Council on the Implementation of the Strategy of Rural Revitalization" in the No.1 Central Committee of the CPC in 2018,which put forward "Industrial prosperity,ecological livability,rural civilization,effective governance,and affluent life".In order to further improve rural living environment and cultivate farmers’ civilized and healthy living habits and lifestyles,local governments have responded positively to policy recommendations and implemented rural dry toilet renovation.The Central Committee Document No.1 of 2019 "Some Opinions of the State Council of the Central Committee of the CPC on Adhering to Priority Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas and Doing Well the Work of Agriculture,Countryside and Agriculture put forward Three-year Action to Improve Rural Human Settlement Environment".In-depth study and dissemination of Zhejiang’s "Thousand Villages Demonstration and Thousand Villages Renovation" project experience,comprehensively promote rural residential environment renovation focusing on rural garbage and sewage treatment,toilet revolution and village appearance upgrading,to ensure that by 2020,the rural residential environment will be significantly improved,the village environment will be basically clean and orderly,and the villagers’ awareness of environment and health will be generally enhanced.Domestic academics generally believe that,firstly,the educational level of household heads of peasant households is related to their attitudes,behaviors and effects on restructuring toilets;secondly,the income level of households of peasant households is closely related to their attitudes,behaviors and effects on restructuring toilets;thirdly,the occupational types of rural residents are related to their attitudes,behaviors and effects on restructuring toilets;Again,the guidance and propaganda of administrative departments are significantly related to the attitude,behavior and effect of farmers on toilet renovation.Finally,the toilet habits of rural residents are greatly influenced by traditional concepts.Most of these studies are from an objective point of view to analyze and evaluate the situation of rural households after toilet reform,and most of the data are from northern China.This paper mainly from the perspective of subjective satisfaction of farmers after toilet improvement,using data collected in southern cities,to analyze the factors affecting the effect of toilet improvement.This paper takes 439 households in Junle Town of Pengzhou City as the research object,and obtains data through field visits and questionnaires.The questionnaire is based on the subjective satisfaction of farmers after the restructuring of dry toilets and the observation of the situation after restructuring.It analyses the satisfaction of farmers after restructuring from the aspects of individual characteristics of farmers,family conditions,understanding of policies,toilet use habits and expected goals.Through the analysis,it was found that farmers’ mastery of hygiene knowledge,toilet transformation efficiency,toilet transformation quality and government support were the main factors influencing farmers’ satisfaction with toilet improvement.Through the research,the following conclusions are drawn: first,the more farmers know about health knowledge,the higher farmers’ satisfaction;secondly,the higher the efficiency of toilet improvement,the higher farmers’ satisfaction;thirdly,toilet improvement plays a positive role in economic development,thereby improving farmers’ satisfaction;fourthly,the better the quality of toilets after toilet improvement,the higher farmers’ satisfaction.The innovations of this paper are as follows: First,most of the existing studies are from an objective perspective to analyze and evaluate the situation of rural households after toilet improvement.This paper mainly from the perspective of subjective satisfaction of rural households after toilet improvement,using structural equation,empirical analysis of the main factors affecting the effect of toilet improvement.Secondly,this paper has some innovations in data.Most of the data obtained in the existing literature are in the northern cities of China,while the data obtained in this paper are in the southern cities of China.Thirdly,the existing literature mostly uses Logit model to collate and analyze the data.In this paper,structural equation is used to analyze the data in the research method,which is more innovative than the existing research and analysis methods.
