Nowadays,the protection of intangible cultural heritage has become a hot topic,and it also reflects the high importance which Chinese Communist Party and government attach to the protection of intangible heritage.Chaozhou is a region with local cultural characteristics,which has nurtured its own unique folk art and produced a batch of folk handicrafts with strong local cultural characteristics.Chaozhou embroidery has a long history,carrying forward chaozhou's exquisite craftsmanship.As chaozhou's local arts and crafts,Chaozhou embroidery has a unique style,which is famous for gorgeous appearance and technology.Furthermore,Chaozhou embroidery is unique among China's four famous embroideries,approved by the state council on May 20,2006 in the first batch of state-level non-material cultural heritage list.The world economy continues to develop,the non-material culture and traditional folk handicraft are confronted with a strong pluralistic impact.Besides,modern technological civilization has brought new technology and materials,which has brought the possibility of expansion of traditional handicraft inheritance.Chaozhou embroidery,which flourished in the 1980 s as a local pillar industry,is now facing stern modern inheritance crisis.In the context of the global emphasis on immaterial cultural heritage,how to solve the contradiction between tradition and modernity in the digital age has become a worth pondering and researching subject.By using the existing literature,data,survey and field investigation,consulting Chaozhou embroidery masters,and visiting the non-material cultural heritage inheritance base,the author gets a lot of valuable information about detailed records of embroidery stitch and needlework process.This paper discusses the artistic features and value of chaozhou traditional culture and Chaozhou embroidery in the inheritance and development of modern society;systematizes the characteristics of Chaozhou embroidery;analyzes the different characteristics of the four famous embroideries in China;the last,puts forward the advice of inheritance of Chaozhou embroidery.More specifically,thispaper offers a new way to inherit the traditional arts,Chaozhou embroidery skill,technology innovation and docking industry,under the background of digital technology's emergence and improvement.Discovering,protecting,promoting and developing are the purposes of this topic.Both static protection and live transmission protection are new directions and inevitable trends which inherits intangible cultural heritage,and has wide foreground in the traditional arts and crafts.
