| As considered as an indispensable part of Chinese traditional craft art,embroidery is one of decoration crafts that are mostly widely applied into the clothes since the ancient times.In China’s traditional embroidery system,Suzhou embroidery has always played an irreplaceable position.However,crewel embroidery of Baoying county is one peculiar techniques of Suzhou embroidery.Meanwhile,it is a kind of intangible cultural heritage with rich artistic and cultural value.While people have gradually enhanced their awareness of inheriting and protecting traditional culture,more and more attentions have been paid to applying the traditional decoration craft into modern clothing design.As a result,the development and innovation of crewel embroidery of Baoying county has been realized during incessant practice and exploration,like unique style of its embroidery method and unique skill feature and aesthetic style,based on which the art culture of crewel embroidery of Baoying county was deeply investigated by taking crewel embroidery art of Baoying county as main research object,keeping foothold on research perspectives such as art,design science,sociology and anthropology and taking cultural inheritance,artistic development,skill feature,aesthetic expression and innovative design of crewel embroidery of Baoying county as main research contents.Firstly,through field investigation,a visit was paid to the birthplace and development regions of crewel embroidery in Jiangsu province.Besides,local representative inheritors were kept in touch to drop by their studios and embroidery creation fields,ask about,record,take photos of and measure all regions,crewel embroidery inheritors and creation process of their works,know about the historical development of crewel embroidery,modern inheritance and innovation status.Through document research,documents and information relating to the crewel embroidery of Baoying county were searched and consulted,and the collected entity pictures of crewel embroidery were classified,sorted and analyzed from the perspective of iconography by adopting image-text mutual proof,which formed the chain of evidence mutually supporting the documentary record.Besides,transverse comparison into the crewel embroidery in all regions of Jiangsu province was carried out through comparative analysis to explore the universality and individuality of crewel embroidery among all regions.Then,through vertical comparison of inheritors of different generations and batch numbers in the specific region to conclude the historical development and inheritance innovation of the crewel embroidery.Afterwards,the skill features and aesthetic characteristics of the crewel embroidery of Baoying county were concluded through comprehensive comparison.Lastly,the in-depth learning,training and practice of the crewel embroidery of Baoying county was implemented through practical application.Based on the summary of skill features of the crewel embroidery of Baoying county,the application status of the crewel embroidery of Baoying county obtained through market survey was compared to apply the crewel embroidery of Baoying county into the innovative design of modern clothes and fashion accessories.The research shows that the crewel embroidery of Baoying county is an important constitutional part of the excellent traditional embroidery art.Color expression of the art can be strongly compared and meticulously rendered.There are diversified artistic effects.Besides,unique craft and techniques also could be formed by combining the science and technology.Meanwhile,the crewel embroidery of Baoying county is also of significant commercial and market attribute during modern practice and application.It is of diversified application possibilities and unique aesthetic significance in modern design as the art product endowed with emotional value of commodity. |
