The Practice Of Applying The Embroidery Of The Li Ethnic Group In Modern Children’s Clothing

Li ethnic group embroidery is a world intangible cultural heritage(hereinafter referred to as "intangible heritage")-an important component of Li ethnic group’s traditional textile producing techniques,and is also one of China’s excellent local embroidery varieties.As a major feature of Li’s traditional textile,producing techniques,Li embroidery preserves the traditional embroidery techniques of the Li people and enriches the diversity of Chinese embroidery culture.Li embroidery has unique ethnic and regional characteristics.The treasure of Li embroidery,the dragon quilt,has a high reputation as a tribute for several generations in history.As the crystallization of ethnic wisdom and civilization,Li’s "intangible cultural heritage" is a valuable cultural resource and an indispensable component of the 5000 year traditional culture of the Chinese nation.This research takes the Li ethnic group embroidery in Hainan as the research object,with the purpose of inheriting intangible cultural heritage,and explores the application of Li ethnic group embroidery in modern children’s clothing through design practice.The research content mainly includes three parts: Firstly,an overview of the background of the research,and a comprehensive review of the historical origin,technical characteristics,and inheritance status of Li embroidery through literature research and field research.Focusing on in-depth research on the technical characteristics of Li embroidery in Hainan,this paper interprets Li embroidery from five perspectives: material,type,pattern,color,and usage,and summarizes its characteristics.Secondly,application exploration: based on the exploration of the possibility of applying Li ethnic embroidery in modern children’s clothing design,explores its application principles through the analysis of relevant Li ethnic embroidery elements and other embroidered children’s clothing cases.Finally,explores the forms and key points of innovative application from the perspectives of pattern,color,and craftsmanship,providing method guidance for the application practice of Li ethnic embroidery in modern children’s clothing.Thirdly,design practice: Through early theoretical guidance,based on a deep understanding of the characteristics of Li embroidery elements,combined with existing design experience,Li embroidery innovation is applied to modern children’s clothing.Draw clothing renderings based on the theme and inspiration of the design,propose design schemes for the style,color,fabric,pattern,and process of clothing works,and complete the production of clothing.Through a systematic analysis and interpretation of Li embroidery in Hainan,and application exploration in combination with modern children’s clothing,this research not only has practical significance for the inheritance,development,transformation,and innovation of Li embroidery,but also provides reference for improving the cultural taste and aesthetic taste of local clothing brands in Hainan.It can also stimulate the Hainan people’s sense of identity and belonging to their traditional handicraft culture,enhance ethnic self-confidence,and promote ethnic culture.Nowadays,in the context of the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage and the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port,Li embroidery can become an important cultural card in Hainan,realizing its economic value while displaying itself.
