With the rapid development of China's economy,the pace of urbanization has been accelerating.China's construction industry has expanded rapidly in the form of a large number of market demand for fixed assets such as real estate and urban infrastructure.However,under the“new normal” economic environment,the traditional extensive construction management mode is no longer applicable to the information age.BIM technology as construction of the most important information technology,has been widely used in construction and other industries.And BIM technology bear the main responsibilities of reform and development for construction industry.Geotechnical engineering is an important branch of civil engineering,but it has its own typical characteristics.SO whether BIM information technology is feasible in geotechnical engineering,or what kind of application value have not been the industry consensus.This issue is directly related to the information development strategy direction of geotechnical engineering industry.This paper research and analysis of BIM technology in geotechnical engineering application feasibility by the example of BGI Geotechnical Institute.This paper researches and analysises the feasibility and application value of BIM technology in geotechnical engineering by taking the example of a domestic geotechnical engineering industry as the backbone of BIG Geotechnical institute.Firstly this paper analyzes the development of BIM technology in the construction industry,summe up the development of BIM technology application combined with the characteristics of geotechnical engineering industry and the specific enterprise situation of BGI Geotechnical Institute.Secondly,based on the analysis of the political environment,economic environment,social environment and technical environment of BIM technology development in geotechnical engineering industry,the PEST model was used to external analyze the feasibility of developing BIM technology in BGI Geotechnical Institute.And combined with BGI Geotechnical Institute 's own characteristics and resource conditions,the internal analysis for enterprise development BIM technology feasibility is done.So the qualitative conclusion of BIM technology feasibility is given through internal and external factors analysis.Finally,this paper compares the traditional value chain of BGI Geotechnical Institute with the modified the value chain after introducing BIM technology.Using the value cain theory,the paper determine the ways of the acquisition and promotion of enterprise competitive avantage through BIM Technology.This paper also analyzes the problems that need to be promoted and solved in the future development of BIM technology,and puts forward some strategic suggestions to enhance the core competitiveness of enterprises based on BIM information technology.
