Study On The BIM/BLM And The Application In The Structural Design Of Marine Engineering

Information technology revolution has a strong impact on all fields of society and brings about rapid development to the social civilization. The application of information technology in manufacturing industry is much advanced than that in construction industry. Nowadays the latest information technology in manufacturing industry is PDM technology. In recent years the PLM concept based on PDM technology has become mature and has been widely used in practice, bringing about huge economic benefits and social contribution. At the same time, the PLM concept is spreading to other industries. Compared with the quick and thorough development of information technology in manufacturing industry, the application of information technology in construction industry is still at the low level. How to seize the information technology revolution to complete a leap in the development of construction industry is becoming a primary task.Referring to PDM technology and PLM concept, BIM and BLM concept emerge in construction industry in recent years.This paper studies the concept of BIM technology and BLM idea in three parts:1. Through the analysis of the problems due to the low level of current information technology in construction industry, it is indicated that informationization is the primary task in the construction industry; through analysis of the status quo of information technology in the manufacturing industry, it is pointed out that PDM, PLM and BIM, PLM are essentially the same. So a conclusion can be drawn that BLM is the proper concept which should be applied during the process of informationiztion in the construction industry.2. After the analysis of the BLM, it is indicated that BIM is the key technology and the key stage is the design stage in the implementation of BLM; through the analysis of BIM technology, it is demonstrated that BIM is virtually a new generation of 3D CAD technology in the design field of the construction industry, which can bring out enormous advantages not only in the design field but also in the fields of construction, operation and management. Thus it is concluded BIM technology originates from the design field and succeeds during the implementation of BLM. The spread of BIM results from the needs of the owners, the formulation of national standards and the profound changes of the operational and organizational structure in the overall industry.3. Focusing on the application of BIM technology in structural design field of ocean project, this thesis innovatively brings forward the specific scheme of BIM technology application. The feasibility of this scheme is verified in practice. It is expected that this thesis can do some contribution to BIM technology application in the field of structural engineering design and to BIM technology promotion in China's construction industry and other sectors.
