Analysis Of Total Factor Productivity And Its Influencing Factors In Shanxi Province

With the powerful promotion of supply-side structural reform,The economy of Shanxi province has shifted from the stage of high-speed growth to the stage of high-quality development gradually,and improving total factor productivity has become the key to promote high-quality economic development.However,in recent years,the contradiction between economic development and environmental protection in Shanxi Province has become more and more prominent,and the development of each city in Shanxi Province is uneven.Therefore,it is worth thinking about how to consolidate the overall economic development strength of Shanxi Province.Based on the panel data of 11 prefecture-level cities in Shanxi Province from 2009 to 2017,this thesis aims to study the economic development efficiency and spatial correlation of prefecture-level cities in Shanxi Province,so as to provide relevant theoretical references for highquality development of Shanxi Province.Firstly,this thesis analyzes the traditional total factor productivity and its decomposition factors based on ML index.Furthermore,through frontier regression,the total factor productivity(TFP)and its decomposition were obtained after excluding the influence of external environmental factors and random errors.Then the total factor productivity and its decomposition value of the two stages are compared,in order to understand the economic development level of Shanxi cities more objectively;Based on the above discussion,a detailed study was conducted on the influencing factors of the adjusted TFP,so as to establish the relationship reasonably between theoretical concepts and real variables.The results show that the growth of traditional TFP mainly depends on technological progress,while the growth of adjusted TFP is influenced by technological progress and technological efficiency.From 2009 to 2014,the pure technical efficiency values of the stages before and after the adjustment basically matched,but from 2014 to 2017,the pure technical efficiency values of the two stages showed a trend of ebb and flow.The change of comprehensive technical efficiency and scale efficiency was consistent.The initial technical level of Taiyuan city was low due to the great influence of external environment and random error,but the efficiency level remained in the forefront after eliminating environmental factors,the efficiency of Xinzhou city level mainly depends on the production dynamic extreme released after the economic crisis,it is worth noting that the Datong technology level are greatly influenced by external environment factors,on average,in addition to Jinzhong and Linfen,Datong,Changzhi,comprehensive technical efficiency decreases,other cities are characterized by different degrees of increase.The industrial structure and the level of economic development only have a negative impact on the total factor productivity of this city but have no significant negative impact on the neighboring areas.But the technical level only has the significant positive influence to the total factor productivity of this city.In addition,the degree of marketization has a significant positive effect on TFP of this region and adjacent regions.
