As China's economic development enters a stage of rapid growth, the total economic output continues to rise.At the same time,a series of problems have emerged. The environmental pollution has increased, the energy consumption has increased, and the people's living standards have been limited. When assessing economic development efficiency,TFP indicators are commonly used;in recent years, scholars have constructed green TFP indicators and used environmental pollution as bad output to more fully evaluate economic development efficiency;at the same time, economic development is more comprehensive. The concept of economic development efficiency should take into account the level of human development.Urbanization is the biggest geographical change in China's economic development, and it is also the trend of world geography and population development. The urbanization process has profoundly changed the human economic life style and changed the process of human social development. The impact of urbanization on economic development efficiency is profound and comprehensive.Based on the green total factor productivity, this paper takes the human development index as one of the economic outputs to construct an integrated total factor productivity to fully evaluate the economic development efficiency. The results show that our overall integrated total factor productivity increased from 0.76 in 2000 to 0.82 in 2015,and the overall increase was achieved.China's 2001-2015 comprehensive total factor productivity ML index is greater than 1,indicating that economic development efficiency has improved.Using the chain regression approach,a typical mediation mechanism was selected to study the impact of urbanization on economic development efficiency. The results show that urbanization is conducive to promoting industrial agglomeration, promoting financial expenditure expansion, and facilitating technological innovation. These three variables can become cities. The mediation mechanism that promotes the efficiency of economic development can be studied in the next step;then, without the participation of relevant mediator variables,an empirical study of the relationship between urbanization and comprehensive total factor productivity shows that urbanization is significantly positive. It affects comprehensive TFP and shows that urbanization is conducive to promoting economic growth and efficiency growth. Finally,it joins industrial agglomeration, fiscal expenditure, and technological innovation, and further validates the mediation of integrated TFP growth on the basis of relevant variables. The mechanism and empirical results show that after the mediation variable is added, the impact of urbanization on the growth of comprehensive total factor productivity has changed from positive to negative, from large to small, and from significantly to relatively insignificant. The three empirical models confirm that The impact of urbanization on economic development efficiency is Intermediation achieved.
