Taxonomic Studies On Derbidae From Southwest China

The planthopper family Derbidae(Hemiptera: Auchenorrhyncha: Fulgoroidea)consists of 1688 species in 163 genera in the world,157 species in 40 genera in China.Species of Derbidae are widely distributed in all zoogeographical regions of the world and many species of them are important pests in agriculture and forestry.However,the species of Derbidae of China are numerous and it is greatly insufficient in phylogenic study.The present dissertation is a systematic study on the family Derbidae from Southwestern China,including taxonomy and faunal analysis.The results can provide basic reference for the phylogenetic evolution of Homopteras,species identification of agricultural and forestry pests,biology and ecology study of important pests.The main research contents and results are as follows:TaxonomyA systematic classification study of Derbidae was carried out based on more than 1200 specimens from Southwest China.The specimens belonged to 37 species of 16 genera in Derbidae.Among them,14 species were described as new to science,7 species were reported for the first time in China,1 species was treated as new combination,8 genera and 11 species were reported for the first time in Southwest China.Keys to tribes,genera and species were provided respectively.The main morphological characteristic figures and male genetalia descriptions were provided,and patrt female genetalia descriptions were also provided.In addition,the differences between two approximate genera Hauptenia Szwedo,2006 and Produsa Szwedo,2006 were discussed in this study,and the application of the spinal formula in the taxonomy of Derbidae also be discussed.At the same time,we discussed the taxonomic status of the genus Zeugma Westwood,1840,according to the external morphological characteristics preliminarily.The studied specimens including the types were deposited in the Institute of Entomology of Guizhou University.The new taxa,new records to Chinese fauna and in China,the distribution of the Chinese Derbidae at generic and specific level were examined by using the methods of faunal analysis and biogeography.The distribution characteristics of Derbiade of China and Southwest China in the zoogeographic regions of the world and China were clarified preliminarily.1.Distribution characteristics of Derbidae from China at generic and specific levelThere are 10 distribution types of the Chinese Derbidae at generic levels in zoogeographic regions of the world,the Oriental realm type(35%)takes the first place,the Oriental-Australian realm type(17.5%)in the second,the third is Oriental-Paleractic realm type(12.5%).Among them,the fanua of distribution of this family has strong relationship with Oriental realm,Australian realm and Paleractic realm;40 genera constitute 9 types of distribution in zoogeographic regions of China,Huanan region type(47.5%)prevailed,Huazhong-Huanan region type(20%)secondly,the third is Huanan-Huazhong-Xinan region type(15%).Among them,the fanua of distribution of this family has strong relationship with Huanan region,Huazhong region and Xinan region.There are only 4 distribution types of the Chinese Derbidae at specific levels in zoogeographic regions of the word,the Oriental realm type(87.64%)takes the absolute advantage,the Oriental-Paleractic realm type(17.5%)in the second.Among them,the fanua of distribution of this family has strong relationship with Oriental realm and Paleractic realm;178 species constitute 11 types of distribution in zoogeographic regions in China,Huanan region type(69.66%)takes the first place,Huazhong region type(11.24%)takes the second place,the third is Huanan-Huazhong region type(8.43%).Among them,the fanua of distribution of this family has strong relationship with Huanan region and Huazhong region.2.Distribution characteristics of Derbidae from Southwest China at generic and specific levelThere are 7 distribution types of the Derbidae in Southwest China at generic levels in zoogeographic regions of the word,the Oriental realm type(26.32%)takes the first place,the second are Oriental-Australian realm type,Paleractic-Oriental-Australian realm type and Paleractic-Oriental-Australian-Ethiopian realm type,of which are 15.79%.Among them,the fanua of distribution of this family has strong relationship with Oriental realm,Australian realm and Paleractic realm,the link between with the Oriental realm and Ethiopian realm is little stronger;19 genera constitute 8 types of distribution in zoogeographic regions in China,Huanan-Huazhong-Xinan region type(31.58%)takes the first place,Huazhong-Huanan region type(21.05%)in the second,Huanan region type(15.97%)is the third.Among them,the fanua of distribution of this family has strong relationship with Huanan region,Huazhong region and Xinan region.There are 4 distribution types of the Derbidae in Southwest China at specific levels in zoogeographic regions of the word,the Oriental realm type(26.32%)takes the first place,the second is Paleractic-Oriental realm type(18.87%).Among them,the fanua of distribution of this family has strong relationship with Oriental realm and Paleractic realm;53 species constitute 9 types of distribution in zoogeographic regions in China,Huazhong region type(24.53%)takes the first place,Huanan region type(22.64%)take the second place,Huazhong-Huanan region type(20.75%)is the third.Among them,the fanua of distribution of this family has strong relationship with Huanan region and Huazhong region.
