The present dissertation mainly deals with the morphology, taxonomy, faunal analysis of the Chinese Megophthalminae. The taxonomic history and present situation on Megophthalminae both Chinese fauna and wordwide are reviewed, taxonomic characteristics, economic importance, the morphology and terminology, material and methods of Megophthalminae are included. Based on the classification system on the basis of geographical distribution and fauna are discussed.Totally, 2 tribes, 10 genera and 27 species are recorded and described in the taxonomic part, of which 8 species and 1 genus are new to science, 2 species and 3 genera are newly recorded from China and 1 new synonyms is proposed. Keys are given to all the genera and species. The figures of male genitalia and morphological characters of all the new taxa are illustrated. The new taxa, new records to Chinaese fauna and new synonyms are listed as follows:New genera: Neoagallia gen. nov.New species: Platyproctus alashanus sp. nov., Platyproctus russus sp. nov., Anaceratagallia jingdongensis sp. nov., Igerna yunnana sp. nov., Japanagallia lamellata sp. nov., Japanagallia spinosa sp. nov., Neoagallia diaoluoana sp. nov., Onukigallia matsumurai sp. nov.New tribal records: Adelungiini BakerNew generic records: Ancaceratagallia Zachvatkin, Igerna Kirkaldy, Platyproctus Lindberg.New specific records: Anaceratagallia venosa (Fourcroy), Anaceratagallia ribauti (Ossiannilsson).New synonyms: Drydurgades bifurcatus Cai & Shen 1999, Syn. nov. (=Dryodurgades formosanus (Matsumura), 1912).The faunal structures of the Chinese Megophthalminae (Agalliinae) at generic and specific levels were examined. 10 known genera constitute 3 types of distribution in Zoogeographic regions in the world. Among them, 6 genera are distributed in Oriental + Palaearctic region, which occupy 50%, while 4 genera in Oriental region and 1 genus Palaearctic region, accounting for 10% and 7.4% respectively. 27 known species constitute 10 types of distribution in 7 Chinese Zoogeographic regions sub-regions. Of them, 6 species are distributed in South China su-region, accountiong for 22.2%; 5 species in Southwest China sub-region and Central China sub-region, accountiong for 18.5% respectively. The type specimens of the new species are deposited in College of Life Sciences & Technology, Inner Mongolia Normal University (IMNU).
