Shanxi Huo Mountains Nature Reserve is located in the southern section of Taiyue Mountains.It is a forest ecological protection area with Juglans mandshurica,Fraxinus mandshurica and forest ecosystem.Since its establishment in 2002,the Reserve has been adjusted in 2016 through demonstration.This article using mainly Reserve functional zoning adjusted as the research scope,with the field test,typical sampling of field investigation,laboratory identification,historical statistics,and establishing Juglans mandshurica and Fraxinus mandshurica static life table and so on,study floristic characteristics and protected species population dynamics in Reserve,and the results are as follows:Floristic characteristics: after the adjustment,there are 95 families and 406 genera and 830 species of seed plants in Huo Mountains Nature Reserve,including 2 families and 4 genera and 6 species of gymnosperms plants and 93 families and 402 genera and 824 species of angiosperms.The dominant floristic elements of the seed plants were dominated by the world wide type,and the dominant genera were dominated by temperate genera(140 genera).There were 14 families and 19 genera and 32 species of ferns,among which the temperate component distribution pattern was dominant,with in 7 families and 10 genera and 11 species in total.Juglans mandshurica population diameter class structure and static life table analysis show that Juglans mandshurica population have less young individuals and more older individuals.Population survival curve is Deevey?type.At present,the maintenance of population mainly depends on the middle age plants.That Juglans mandshurica is a positive tree species,often due to light and other factors resulting in high seedling mortality.The formation of forest Windows makes it difficult for young trees to regenerate naturally under their stand.Fraxinus mandshurica population diameter class structure and static life table analysis show that Fraxinus mandshurica population have more young individuals and less older individuals.Population survival curve is Deevey? type.At present,the population structure remains relatively stable.As a semi-positive tree species,the warm and humid undergrowth environment is conducive to the Fraxinus mandshurica of seeds.However,the formation of forest window is not conducive to the growth of seedlings into saplings.There are many seedlings under the ash forest,but not many trees.The population can renew,but it is difficult to develop.
