Based on stoichiometry, ecological stoichiometry, which combine the basictheories of physics, chemistry and biology, is a study of the ecosystem, communities,organs, cells, molecules and other substances which interact with each other atdifferent levels. Ecological stoichiometry is also a study of the relationship betweenthe elements and the processes of ecology, integrating different parts of biosphere,including populations, individuals, cells, molecules, genes, etc. C, N, P, and K are themost basic nutrients for plants and are the most important elements of biology systems.Scientists around world, therefore, continue paying attention to stoichiometry aboutthese four elements. In particular, the research on the level of organism buildsconnection between large-scale living systems, the organisms, and the molecular, so ithas a very important ecological significance, because the dynamic change between C,N, P, and K is influenced by many ecological facts such as organism’s growth andaging, soil’s moisture and temperature, and light, etc.In this paper, we studied the content of organic matter, N, P, and K in the soil ofHuangcangyu Nature Reserve, six kinds of dominant shrub leaf living in this region,and related traits between different kind of leaves in order to judge nutrient limitationconditions and to reveal synergies trends between the relevant features of plant leavesof Huangcangyu Nature Reserve, deciduous broad-leaved forest. In this study,thefollowing conclusions are obtained:1) In Huangcangyu Nature Reserve, the content of C, N, P, and K in the sixdifferent dominated shrub leaves showed a significant seasonal dynamics, and itsseasonal dynamics trends are spring>summer>autumn.2) In Huangcangyu Nature Reserve, the ratio of C and N of six differentdominated shrub leaves is stable, and there is no significant difference in differentseasons, which is because long-term adaptation to the environment.3) In Huangcangyu Nature Reserve, the ratio of N and K of six differentdominated shrub leaves is less than2.1, and the ratio of K and P is greater than3.4,indicating that6kinds of dominant shrub are subject to N, P common restrictions.4) During spring, summer, and autumn in Huangcangyu Nature Reserve, thecontent of C, N, P, and K in the six different dominated shrub leaves correspond to soil organic matter and to seasonal variation trend of the content of organic matter,N,P, and K. There is no correlation between leaves and the content of N and P in soil,whereas there is a significant positive correlation to the content of K, indicating thatplants’ abilities to absorb K elements will be significantly affected by the content of insoil.5) In Huangcangyu Nature Reserve, the ratio of C and P of six differentdominated shrub leaves has a significant seasonal dynamic characteristics, exceptlarge wooden pole fruit and elm, in spring, the strongest growth season for plant, theratio of C and P in the other four kinds of shrubs leaves is lower than the ration insummer and autumn,indicating that the ration of C and P can function as growth rateindicator for plants living in Huangcangyu Nature Reserve.6) In Huangcangyu Nature Reserve, there is relevance between relatedfunctional traits of the six kinds of dominant shrub. Specific leaf area is significantlynegatively correlated to leaf dry weight, but is significantly positively correlated to thecontent of N, P, and K. The extent to which the content of C in leaves is maximum,followed orderly by the content of N, Specific leaf area, the content of K, the contentof P, and the leaf dry weight, showing that in the same environmental conditions, theability of leaf to adapt and the degrees to which are influenced vary.
