Taxonomicals Study Of Surirella Turpin From Part Of Southwest China

During 2014 to 2018,algae samples from Hainan,Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous region and Yunnan province were collected.This area across wide latitude and longtidue,climate are very diverse,provide very special habitats for algae.Samples from Hainan island(Wuzhi Mt.,Diaoluo Mt.,Qixian Mt.,Jianfeng Mt.,Wuzhizhou Island),Guangxi(Huangpao Mt.,Shiwan Mt.,Fangcheng River,Heishui River,Detian Waterfall,Maoer Mt.,Li River,Yangshuo,Shiwan Mountain,Naban reservoir,Naqi village),Yunnan(Jinghong,Dali Ancient Town,Lijiang,Lashi Lake,Lugu Lake,Puzhehei,Dali Ancient Town,Erhai,Tengchong,Shangri-La)were collected.Totally,951 samples were collected during the investigation time,and 1952 permanent slides were made by Naphrax.The collection habitats include river,stream,lake,waterfall,swamp,pond,hotspring,reservoir and wet wall.We focus on the genus Surirella in this research.LM and SEM were used to observe the specimens,and take photos.All the taxa were described based on the LM characters,and part of the taxa and all the new species were also described based on the features observed by SEM.From all the 951 samples,only 51 taxa belonging to Surirella were identified.Among them 39 taxa and 6 variation,9 are new to science,Surirella shiwana Jiang,Liu& Fan sp.nov.?Surirella pseudoconstricta Jiang,Liu & Fan sp.nov.?Surirella subula Jiang,Liu & Fan sp.nov.?Surirella subengleri Jiang,Liu & Fan sp.nov.? Surirella pseudotenera Jiang,Liu & Fan sp.nov.?Surirella pungens Jiang,Liu & Fan sp.nov.?Surirella wuzhii Jiang,Liu & Fan sp.nov.?Surirella uniformis Jiang,Liu & Fan sp.nov.?Surirella exilis Jiang,Liu & Fan sp.nov.,and 6 taxa were hard to identified due to the rare specimens,20 of them are new record of China.Preliminary analysis of the species composition and distribution patterns were discussed this research.1.Among the 51 taxa,9 of them belong the Pennate group,42 of them belong to Robustae group.2.Compared with former reported in China,the biodiversity of the Surirella are relatively high in this area,but the species quality is relatively low.3.Nine new species were observed from this research,three of them only distributed in Hainan islands,three of them only distributed in Guangxi,three of them occurred at both Hainan island ang Guagnxi.No new species was found from Yunnan.4.Samples were collected from Hainan,Guangxi and Yunnan provinces,the species composition are very diverse.Hainan islands has the most abundant diversity,with 30 taxa were observed,Guangxi found 24 taxa,only 10 taxa were identified from Yunnan.Most of the taxa have very limit distribution area,only Surirella angusta Kützing and Surirella roba Leclercq were observed from all the three province.5.Samples were collected from river,stream,waterfall,reservoir,pond,swamp,hot spring and wet-wall,the species composition also very diverse among different habitats.Stream has the most abundant diversity of Surirella,with 31 taxa were observed,next is river,27 taxa were observed,12 taxa were found from waterfall;in lake,pond,swamp and wet-wall,8,4,3 and 3 taxa were observed respectively.No taxa were found from hot spring and reservoir.6.The sampling area across the tropic,subtropic and temperate zone,the species composition are very different among each climate,only Surirella angusta Kützing and Surirella roba Leclercq were observed from all these area.At tropic,31 taxa were found,17 taxa were observed from subtropic area,only 9 taxa were found from temperate area.
