Plecoptera, also known as stoneflies or perlids.Hemimetamorphosis, nymphs usually live in streams or rivers with clear water and high oxygen content. They are sensitive to water quality and are an important type of environmental indicator insects. There are 10 families and about 590 species recorded in China.Jiangsu is one of the most economically developed regions in China, and it also has a water system and a hilly environment suitable for the growth of the Plecoptera. The study of Jiangsu stoneflies fauna originate from the discovery of Amphinemura sinensis and Nemoura nankinensis, two species of family Nemouridae collected from Nanjing and proposed by Wu in 1926.They were first perlids discovered and named by the Chinese entomologist, with an important significance to the early research of Chinese stoneflies. However,in the following half a century, the investigation of Plecoptera in Jiangsu was at a standstill. From 2016 to 2018,we investigated the Plecoptera insects in the main mountains and forest areas of Jiangsu, and observed and recorded their living habits, occurrence regularity and geographical distribution. It provides the basic data for the further study of the faunal distribution, evolution and the relationship with the environment of Plecoptera. The second part of the paper is the taxonomy of the family Peltoperlidae in China, which belongs to the order Plecoptera,Arctoperlaria,Systellognatha.Claassen proposed this family in 1931.In the past century, many scholars have revised the oriental group in this family. After the establishment of Microperlinae in 1989 by Uchida&Isobe, the classification system of two subfamilies with 10 genera was basically established and has been used until now.In 1999 and 2007,Yuzhou Du and Stark&Sivec respectively reviewed the species of Peltoperlidae in China and Asia.In recent years, new species and new genus record of the family have been reported, and the corresponding classification and retrieval systems have changed. The morphological characteristics of some species are not clear in previous studies, and some misrepresentations are still remained in old literatures.2 subfamilies,4 genera and 16 species of Chinese Peltoperlidae are described in this paper. The identification features of these species have been attached with color photographs. The list of new species described in this paper is as follows:(1)Kamimuria liyangensis sp.nov.(2)Styloperla starki sp.nov.(3)Soliperla Ricker,1952(new record genus in China)Soliperla wanglanga sp.nov.(article published)...
