Prioninae is a small subfamily in Cerambycidae in Coleoptera, but many species are serious pests in agriculture and foresty. This thesis introduces the economic significance and the progress to study on Prioninae and puts emphasis on the external morphology, hind wing veinations, productive organs and the fauna of Prioninae in China, based on the shortage of study on Prioninae of China. Results are as follows:Study on external morphology of Prioninae adultThe thesis integrates the latest viewpoints on Prioninae study and completes the classification system of Prioninae of China. Two new species in science are discribed in this thesis: Aegolipton yunnanensis Feng et Chen, 2007 and Sarmydus trichodes Feng et Chen, 2006. The genus Prionomma White, 1853 and the species Prionomma bigibbosus White, 1853 are first recorded in China. Discriptions of external morphology of 12 genera: Bandar,Casiphia,Aegosoma,Palaeomegopis,Aegolipton,Psephactus,Psilotarsus,Hystatoderes,Drumontiana,Baralipton,Megobaralipton,Spinimegopis and 57 species in Chinese are recorded in this thesis. Up to now, there are 6 tribes, 22 genera and 94 species and subspecies of Prioninae in China. We think the scientific name of genus Prionus is Prionus Geoffroy, 1762, instead of Prionus Fabricius 1775, because of Geoffroy setting up the genus Prionus. Keys for species, genus and tribe are given in this thesis too.Study on the venation of hind wingsAccroding to the nomenature of Polyphaga of Coleoptera given by Kukalova and Lawrence in 2004, the names of hind wing venations of Prioninae given by Saalas in 1936 are renew. This thesis discribes hind wing venations of 5 tribes, 12 genera and 24 species and subspecies of Prioninae, compares and analyses these characters on species level, genus level and tribe level. We find that characters of venations are important in Prioninae classification to species, genus and tribe. These characters of hind wing venations be important in tribe classification, genus classification and species classification are proposed in this thesis too.Study on the productive organsWe dissected many specimens of Prioninae and got female productive organs of 4 tribe, 7 genera and 13 species and subspecies and male genitlias of 5 tribe, 9 genera and 20 species and subspecies. Discriptions and pictures about these productive organs are given in this thesis. Through comparing these characters of productive organs, we find these characters are important in the tribe classification, genus classification and specion classification. These characters of productive organs be important in tribe classification, genus classification and species classification are proposed in this thesis too.The fauna of Prioninae in ChinaThis thesis gives the list of Prioninae distributing in China. According to this list, we analyse the distribution of known 22 genera and 94 species and subspecies in zoogeographical regions and administrative regions and find that different genera and species have different distribution and that different zoogeographical region and administrative region have different species. Up to know, there is no record of Prioninae in Macao SAR Government. Oriental species and genera are largely more than Palaearctic species and genera in Prioninae of China. There are many genera and species distributing only in one zoogeographical region, but few genera and species distributing in two zoogeographical region or above. Endemisms at species level of Prionina are abundant in China and up to 40 species, takeing up 42.6% of the fauna of China. There are 31 species distributing in one political region. The genus Casiphia Fairmaire, 1894 only distributes in China. There are 6 species recorded in Chongqing and smaller than the number of Sichuan province (known 23 species) and Guizhou province (known 13 species). So we think the survey of the Prioninae in China are limited...
