Diversity protection and scientific research of plants has always been the construction purpose of botanical garden.In the meantime,it shoulders heavy responsibilities for public science education and garden exhibition to enhance protection consciousness.The establishment of the digital botanical garden has further improved the management level and service quality of the botanical garden.But the construction of the digital gotanical garden has many problems at present,such as the single function structure and the poor visualization effect.Based on this,the research on digital construction of campus botanical garden of Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University was proposed,it mainly includes the following contents:1.Through reading literatures and investigating some existing digital botanical garden platforms,the requirement analysis has been done.Then it is proposed that plant resource information management,plant introduction and domestication,teaching,research and virtual botanical garden are the main service contexts of the platform.Inside,the construction and visualization of virtual botanical garden is the focus of this study.2.Due to the platform studied in this paper is a display platform aimed at plant information,the framework of the digital botanical garden platform is designed and constructed in detail.The opening platform of Gaode Map is used as the support platform of Web GIS,and the framework of B/S distributed system is adopted.3.Architecture of system platform is designed.First of all,the whole architecture is designed based on the result of requirement analysis.It is divided into 4 layers include Data Supporting Layer,Business Logical Layer,Application Service Layer and Expression Layer under the support of the basic equipment.Then,the platform running environment,application service function and maintenance are described.Especially,the database is designed in detail.It includes the conceptual structure and logical structure design.Finally,the specific design of the functional modules is carried out.4.In order to enhance the visualization effect of the campus digital botanical garden platform,the realization process of the 3D landscape modeling is emphatically studied.The 3D tree modeling method based on fractal iterative algorithm and the 3D real scene modeling method based on the oblique photograph technology with unmanned aerial are used to enhance the service function of the virtual botanical garden on the platform.The construction of the platform can not only concentrate on the management of all the living plant information in the garden,but also improve the convenience of the information exchange and sharing.Virtual botanic garden also can help to form a visual understanding and experience for the botanic garden of Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University from different perspectives.Assisting the scientific research of teachers or students and promoting popularization of science and education online are also could be done.
