Botanical gardens are both important infrastructure and sites for protecting biodiversity in cities . The construction of botanical gardens is very important for us . Developed countries attach importance to the construction of botanical garden ,and have a number of successful examples. There are 160 botanical gardens in China at present. Comparing to world botanical gardens , modern Chinese botanical gardens develop more later .It is a very important subject for study to construct botanical gardens . Chinese botanical gardens can't learn from developed countries because our system and the source of financing are different from them . Shenyang botanical garden is a successful example in the course of the development and construction of Chinese botanical gardens .It deserves other botanical to learn from.We firstly discussed the meaning ,types , function , history and the current condition of botanical garden . Then we make an analysis of the function and plants landscape of Shenyang botanical garden , and summarize what makes Shenyang botanical garden succeed . Comparing Shenyang botanical garden with Beijing botanical garden , we analyse the likeness and difference between them , and point out the problem and achievement of Shenyang botanical garden so that Chinese botanical gardens can learn from each other . Lastly , we discuss six principals that Chinese botanical gardens should obey when they construct, and suggest which way that Chinese botanical gardens will go for their development. I expect what I said above can be a guidance for the development and construction of Chinese botanical gardens .
