The plants of Paulownia are deciduous tree,rarely evergreen.Their natural distribution and cultivation area are very broad,because of their rapid growth,easy to reproduce,deep roots and large inflorescence,it is one of the best tree species which are widely used in garden greening,intercropping,etc.Its wood material is excellent,the texture is straight and It is one of the important special economic tree species.With the development of science and technology,many scholars use many methods such as biochemistry,cytology and molecular biology have done a lot of research on the classification of Paulowniaceae and Paulownia.However,no conclusion has yet been reached.Because of the genetic diversity of Paulownia,the continuity of characters variation,the difference of interspecific hybridization group and the difference of population division among different scholars,the Paulownia genus included in the Bignoniaceae or Scrophulariaceae became controversial.In order to elucidate the problem of Paulownia family and fully understand the relationship between species of Paulownia,this paper based on morphological theory,model theory,winter condition theory,etc.the relationship between Paulownia and its related genera was analyzed.The suggestion of restoring Paulowniaceae is put forward,and the classification system of Paulowniaceae is established.In addition,on the basis of traditional morphology and winter study,the systematic cluster analysis of Paulownia germplasm resources was carried out by means of quantitative taxonomy,and a new classification system of Paulownia was established.The main results were as follows:(1)A new classification system of Paulowniaceae was established by restoring Paulowniaceae and enumerating its scientific basis.The system includes Shiuyinghua J.Paclt.and Paulownia Sieb.& Zucc.(2)According to morphological variation theory,model theory and winter theory of Paulownia germplasm resources,22 characters of 11 species of Paulownia genus were selected used to quantitative taxonomy.A new classification system of Paulownia was established by using SPSS 21.0 software to analyze Q-type clustering of different Paulownia species and R-type clustering of their characters.The Paulownia genus is divided into subgen Paulownia and subgenu serrulatifolia Y.M.Fan,Z.X.Chen et T.B.Zhao.Subgen Paulownia.It includes Paulownia kawakamii.Subgenus Paulownia was divided into 2 groups:(1)sect.Paulownia Dode:Paulownia tomentosa(Thunb.)Steud.,Paulownia taiwaniana Hu et Chang,Paulownia fargesii Franch.;(2)sect.Fortuneana Dode:Paulownia fortunei(Seem.)Hemsl.,Paulownia elongata S.Y.Hu,Paulownia lamprophylla Z.X.Chang et S.L.Shi,Paulownia ichengensis Z.Y.Chen,Paulownia albophloea Z.H.Zhu,Paulownia jianshiensis Z.Y.Chen and Paulownia catalpifolia Gong Tong.(3)This paper investigates,collects,and sorts out 1 species of Shiuyinghua J.Paclt.It is Shiuyinghua silvestrii(Pamp.et Bon.)J.Paclt.There are 19 kinds of Paulownia germplasm resources.They are Paulownia tomentosa,Paulownia fortunei,Paulownia fargesii,Paulownia elongata,Paulownia lamprophylla,Paulownia ichengensis,Paulownia chengtuensis,Paulownia recurva,Paulownia taiwaniana,Paulownia kawakamii,Paulownia albophloea,Paulownia jianshiensis,Paulownia catalpifolia,Paulownia mikado,Paulownia duclouxii,Paulownia rehderiana and Paulownia longifolia.(4)We found two new species in our investigation.They are Paulownia seriati-superimposita Y.M.Fan,Z.X.Chen et T.B.Zhao,sp.nov.and Paulownia penduli-fructi-inflorescentia J.T.Chen,Y.M.Fan,Z.X.Chen et T.B.Zhao,sp.nov.
