Study On The Breeding,Utilization And Sustainable Management Of Guangxi's Terrestrial Wild Animals

The wild animal domestication has a long history in Guangxi and all parts of the province have formed a certain scale.However,the development of wild animal domestication in China is unbalanced.Due to the lack of complete and matching cultivation and management technique,necessary market guide,the development wild animal domestication industry is disorganized and unnormal in Guangxi.This situation has already led to the waste and destruction of wild germplasm resources.A series of systematic investigations on domestication,cultivation and processing,operation and utilization,protection condition of the wild animals was conducted to wholely understand the development condition of wild animal domestication industry in Guangxi.The results are listed as follows:1.155 species,belonged to 4 classes,25 orders and 54 families,were artificially domesticated and reproduced in Guangxi.The most common species were dominated by Naja atra,Ptyas mucosus,Rhizomys pruinosus,Rhixomys pruinosus,Masked Palm Civet,Porcupine,Macaque,Cynomolgus macaques,Sika Deer,Siam alligator,and Rana rugulosa.2.There were 154 commercial species,belonged to 4 classes,17 orders and 59 families,were detected in Guangxi wild animals market.Among these species,19 kinds were alien species from other countries,19 kinds were listed in class II of Chinese Key Protected Wild animals and 47 kinds in Guangxi Key protected wild animals.35 species were listed in CITES Appendix,of which 1 in Appendix I,26 in Appendix II and 8 in Appendix III.3.Based on the domestication survey of Rhizomyidae,Porcupine and Rana rugulosa comparing between Guangxi and other province of China,the main restricted problem of wild animals cultivation industry in Guangxi including:?insufficient industry awareness and hysteretic policy management;? small domestication and cultivation scale,weak technology strength,comparatively low technology content and insufficiency of professionals;? low economic benefit and lack of further processing product of wild animals with high technology and high added value;? lack of efficient sharing platform for wild animals reproduce and utilizing enterprise.To solve these problems and make wild animal domestication industry developing sustainably,such suggestions would be helpful.Firstly,establish and maintain normal operation order of wild animals according to law;Secondly,strengthen the protection and supervision to wild animals and wild resources;Thirdly,cultivate several leading enterprise,as provenance base,to reproduce and utilize wild animal;Finally,legitimately develop and utilize excellent germplasm resources of wild animals from China and abroad country to promote its sustainable development.
