H UAV Co.is one of the civil-military integration and commercialization platforms affiliated with certain large state-owned high-tech enterprise,whose main business is to design,manufacture,and sell UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle)systems.When executing Key Account(KA)projects that involve new field of application,new technology and highly influential clients,H UAV Co.faces numerous challenges,including ill-defined project life cycle,imprecise requirement collection,vague scope definition,insufficient work package breakdown,and inadequate scope verification and scope control,all of which severely affect KA projects' schedule and cost management.Based on the real demand of H UAV Co.'s KA project scope management,this thesis adopts scope management theory and procedure from the PMBOK as guidance to review work procedures in KA project's scope management using Project A as example,finding shortcomings and providing suggestions.The conclusions are then tested in the Northern Oil Project.Through literature study and empirical study,this thesis identifies issues and key factors in scope management,and summarizes ten specific problems in project life cycle and in the six main areas of scope management.This thesis suggests initiating iterative increment project life cycle in KA projects,as well as other suggestions in scope management planning,requirement collecting,scope defining,WBS,scope validating and scope control.Solutions,work procedures,and tools are also provided and discussed.The preliminary results of the thesis are tested in Northern Oil Project,and clear improvement in scope defining,schedule management,cost control is observed.
