Process Discovery And Analysis For Loan Application Process Improvement

The goal of process mining is the automatic discovery of useful information on an event log,this information in the event log must be recorded through the management information systems.The intention of this thesis research with the use of process mining techniques was to conduct analysis on the event log taken from Finance institute to improve loan application processes execution.The Event log is about loan application,it contains 13,087 cases(applications)and 262,200 events.Using a provided Event log,the analysis has been conducted step by step in order to find valuable insights for the improvement of the loan application processes the main objective of the thesis research.The analysis on general process structure has been conducted;Homogeneous groups have been created for facilitation of different analytics on the Event log.Created event groups have been analyzed separately to easier get significant information about the loan application processes.And based on various results analysis,recommendations have been listed as suggestions for the shareholders and stakeholders within the institution for the improvement of the process activities.Disco and ProM tools were used to analyze event log and applied different techniques to discover more helpful findings that can be considered to improve the loan application processes execution.ProM plug-ins like Heuristics miner was used for further analysis on the Event log.The thesis focuses on analysis for general process structure,event log groups and resources performance.
