With the development of the enterprise,lean production and six sigma management have been integrated in more and more corporate practices and the benefits of integration are emerging.Therefore lean six sigma is gradually being introduced by different enterprises in different industries.Although the products and services provided by different enterprises are different,lean six sigma has a common goal,which is to eliminate waste,reduce the process variation,improve the quality of the products or services and reduce costs,to meet customer demand and improve the core competitiveness of enterprise.With the development of technology,S company's main products,the third generation hub bearing unit has big technology advantage in the past years,but with the technical barriers disappeared,the high production cost has become high resistance of S company's market competitiveness.Firstly,this article analyzes S company's production cost and main problems.Then,the DMAIC process of lean six sigma will be applied in the production cost reduction to design a best approach for S company.At last,the article will apply the approach in an actual project,based on the actual cost data and management requirements,project team will not stop finding the improving target and breaking down the target through process and data analysis,until find the root cause.Then according to the root cause,project team will improve and control it to realize the project target and reduce S company production cost by statistic and lean tools.The method application in this article has a strong applicability and operability,it is good for the company,who want to improve their production cost with lean six sigma.
