Research On The Influence Of Parental Entrepreneurs' Cultivation Method On The Successor Children Of Family Businesses

The development of family businesses in China has been short-lived.From the 1980s to the present,Chinese family businesses have been developing for nearly 40 years.With the first generation of entrepreneurs into the elder stage,the issue of family businesses succession is highlighted.Some family businesses have been successfully passed on to the next generation like Ningbo Fotle.Some have also suffered from the decline of their inheritance like Shanxi Haixin Group.Others are exploring the road to succession.Cultivating what kind of successors and how to cultivate successors are new topics in mainland China.First,there are no mature experience and corresponding theories on family businesses succession because of the short history.Second,owing to its unique traditional and cultural background,the success factors and capabilities that the successors of Chinese family businesses need to possess are more diverse and complex than those in the West.This characteristic determines the existence of the research value of this topic in our country.This study uses a qualitative research method of grounded theory.Through the root-coding of the original data,we have got two core categories:the method of parental entrepreneurs' cultivation and the development of successors.At the same time,I have constructed the conceptual model of the influence of parental entrepreneurs' cultivation method on successor children.More specifically,the method of parental entrepreneurs' cultivation include:family factors,cultivation in family businesses.The development of successors children include:ability to output,succession intention,personality traits,self-awareness.This study has made a detailed analysis on the meaning of these concepts and their relationship.Based on the final research results,this paper puts forward some enlightenments and suggestions for Chinese cultivation of family businesses successor in the future.
