An Empirical Analysis On The Influence Of "Craftsman Spirit" On Export Competitiveness Of Manufacturing Industries In China

Manufacturing is a key factor in the core competitiveness of a country,and it is an important guarantee for the stable development of economy.Since the reform and opening up,China’s manufacturing industry has made great achievements and become a veritable manufacturing power.But since the 2008 financial crisis,developed countries renewed focus on manufacturing,and implement the strategy of "industrialization" and tried to grab the notion of high-end manufacturing.In addition,the narrowing of the price advantage of labor factors makes China’s low-end manufacturing industry face the challenge of low factor costs in other developing countries.From the perspective of domestic environment,China’s manufacturing industry makes a big scale,but it’s competitiveness is not strong.In the middle and high-end manufacturing industries,there is a shortage of talents workers,lack of core technology and innovation capability.Faced with these internal and external challenges,China’s manufacturing industry must undergo a transformation from rapid growth to high quality growth,and the key issue is to improve the export competitiveness of the manufacturing industry by cultivating excellent talents with "craftsman spirit" to improve product quality and innovation capability.In this paper,I begin with analysing the current situation of the Chinese manufacturing industry and the export competitiveness of the subdivisions,and find that the Chinese manufacturing industry is facing the problem of slow growth,irrational industrial structure,and the lack of competitiveness of medium and high-end industries.Next,by establishing the evaluation system that measures the "craftsman spirit" of the Chinese provinces,using the method of principal component analysis,I find that there is a growth trend in all the areas,but there is an uneven development in the area,and the manufacturing industry is less focused on industry standards.Then I quote porter’s diamond model to set up the panel data regression model,analyze the key factors that influence the export competitiveness of manufacturing industry,and find that the craftsman spirit,product perfectionism and professional level do have significant positive impact on manufacturing export competitiveness,and also find that the degree of industry agglomeration,the development level of information industry and FDI all have positive influence on the improvement of manufacturing competitiveness in various degree.Then I studied the development experience of manufacturing industries in German and Japan,which are famous for there craftsman spirit.Combining with China’s conditions and national strategy,I make proposals in five expects to cultivating craftsman spirit to enhance the export competitiveness of the manufacturing industries.
