Innovation has three levels which are individual innovation,organizational innovation,and group innovation.Among them,individual innovation is the foundation of enterprise innovation.How to drive the overall innovation based on the individual level is an important breakthrough in organizational research.According to the social cognitive theory,the behavior of the individual is the result of the interaction between the individual and the external environment.Therefore,we treat the channel of interaction between individual and external as the breakthrough of the employee's innovation behavior.This article selects the feedback seeking behavior as the channel of interaction between individual and external,and feedback seeking is also a process when the individual interact with the outside to promote the process of innovation.The goal orientation is the concept put forward by foreign scholars in the study of individual innovation behavior in recent years.It includes three parts: learning goal orientation,proof goal orientation and avoidance goal orientation.Individuals with different goal orientation have different perceptions of feedback.Some individuals pay more attention to the costs of feedback and others pay much attention to the benefits of feedback,thus their ultimate behavior will have different results.Therefore,based on the social cognitive theory,this article constructs the innovation path of employees from the perspective of feedback seeking.The results of this study will also enrich the research of innovation behavior.Based on the study hypothesis,we use SPSS and AMOS to analyze the collected data from the questionnaire survey of 275 new generation staff.In the end,we draw the following conclusions:(1)Goal orientation is positively associated with the innovation behavior,learning goal orientation dimension below the goal orientation has a significantly positive effect on innovation behavior,proof goal orientation has no great effect on innovation behaviors and avoidance goal orientation is negatively associated with the innovation behavior.(2)Feedback seeking has a positive effect which is very significant on the innovation behavior.It is also positively associated with the generation of innovative ideas and the implementation of innovative ideas.(3)Goal orientation has a positive effect which is very significant on feedback seeking.Learning goal orientation dimension included in the goal orientation has a significantly positive effect on the feedback seeking,which proves that the goal orientation has a positive effect on the feedback seeking,but not significant.Avoidance goal orientation has a significantly negative effect on the feedback seeking.(4)Feedback seeking has a partial intermediary effect on the relationship between goal orientation(including three dimensions of it)and innovative behavior.The conclusion of the research enriches and develops the study of innovation behavior at the individual level and provides a new support path for the innovation management of the new generation of employees.Finally,based on the conclusion,we put forward the management advice on the new generation of employees from the two perspectives of the goal orientation and feedback seeking,and we give an outlook of the future research and explain the deficiency of this article.
