SEM-based Analysis On Relationship Between Leisure Motivation And Satisfaction Of City Residents

Leisure is a crystallization of human material and spiritual civilization,which relates to the life quality of all people.As an important outdoor recreation area for urban residents,the city park can provide an opportunity for people to get relaxed,learn new things,and even cultivate their own creativity and hobbies.It has become an indispensable part in people’s recreational and cultural activities,and it is of scholars’ concern to study people’s leisure motivation,leisure satisfaction,as well as the relationship between the two.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the relationship between leisure motivation and satisfaction of urban residents.Based on the research by scholars at home and abroad,we use an improved leisure motivation and satisfaction questionnaire to analyze the leisure motivation and satisfaction of urban residents in Jinan city according to the empirical investigation.Through the use of structural equation model,a structural equation model has been established to analyze the relationship between leisure motivation and satisfaction,as well as the degree of their influence on each other.This is of scientific and research significance to enhance the leisure competitiveness of urban parks and improve the leisure quality and satisfaction of urban residents.During the research,536 urban residents with different personal backgrounds who spend their leisure time in Jinan Quancheng Park are selected and the SPSS19.0 and AMOS23.0 software are used to verify the reliability and validity of the collected data,to analyze the exploratory factors,and to examine and analyze the simulation and modification of the structural equation model.The leisure motivation of unban residents in Jinan city are divided into five dimensions: the exploratory&epistemic motivation,the social motivation,the self-actualization motivation,the relax&restore motivation and the physical health motivation,respectively;the leisure satisfaction is divided into six dimensions,the psychological satisfaction,the educational satisfaction,the social satisfaction,the relaxation satisfaction,the physical satisfaction and the aesthetic satisfaction,respectively.The obtained results show that,(1)the five leisure motivation factors can be listed in descending order to its importance according to the exploratory factor and confirmatory factor analysis: the fitness motivation>the relax&restore motivation > the social motivation>the selfactualization motivation>the exploration&epistemic motivation;(2)the overall fuzzycomprehensive evaluation score of the six dimensions of leisure satisfaction is 3.749 according to the exploratory factor analysis and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation,which is at the "satisfactory" level.According to the IPA analysis of satisfaction evaluation(importance–performance),the educational factor and relaxation factor fall in the to-be-maintained area,the physical factor,the aesthetic factor and the social factor fall in the to-be-improved-later area,and the psychological factor and social factor fall in the to-be-improved-immediately area;(3)By use of the structural equation model to analyze the influence of all variables on each other,the relationship between leisure motivation and leisure satisfaction is as follows: the exploration factor has a positive influence on the physiological satisfaction,the educational satisfaction,the social satisfaction and the relaxation satisfaction,with most positive influence on the psychological satisfaction and educational satisfaction as their path coefficients reach 0.424 and 0.365,respectively.The path coefficients for other satisfactions can be listed in a descending order as follows: the social satisfaction(0.268),the relaxation satisfaction(0.206)and the physical satisfaction(0.164),with a relatively small degree of influence;the social motivation has a positive influence on the educational satisfaction and the physical satisfaction,with the path coefficients being 0.149 and0.268 respectively,however,it has a negative influence on the physical satisfaction,with the path coefficient being-0.152.The self-actualization motivation has a significant positive influence on the five categories of satisfaction,and the path coefficients are in a descending order as follows,the social satisfaction(0.289),the psychological satisfaction(0.281),the physical satisfaction(0.199),the educational satisfaction(0.180)and the aesthetic satisfaction(0.138);the fitness motivation has a positive influence on the relaxation satisfaction and the physical satisfaction,with the path coefficients being 0.231 and 0.176 respectively.The relax&restore motivation has a significant positive influence on all six satisfaction factors,and the satisfaction factors are in a descending order as follows,the relaxation satisfaction(0.625),the aesthetic satisfaction(0.466),the educational satisfaction(0.437),the physical satisfaction(0.315),the social satisfaction(0.277)and the psychological satisfaction(0.185);In general,the relax&restore motivation is of most extensive and far-reaching influence on the leisure satisfaction,and it can be said as the most important motivation that influence the leisure satisfaction;(4)Based on the research above,it is suggested that we can focus the “domestic demand” to improve leisure satisfaction,as the same time,we shall be guided by the different leisure motivations to strengthen the construction of leisure facilities,establish a more comprehensive leisure market,develop leisure products,cultivate related talents,improve the leisure taste and so on.
