Analysis Of The Measurement And Influencing Factors Of GMS Regional Manufacturing Embedded In Global Production Networks

The economic globalization centered with market expansion brings the economic and structural changes.global industrial reconstruction and the division tendency more and more obviously.The whole process of a product from its design,R&D,production and sales is completed from the original one company to now different companies distributed in different countries and regions to realize the optimal resource configuration and maximum benefit.Since the international division led by multinational corporations is deepened from "within the industry" into "within the product",the global production network has come into being that the vertical and integrated FDI reduces the standard for GMS to embed global production network with its own relative advantages to bring great opportunity for the economic development in this region.However,with more and more developing countries participating in international division and embedding the global production network.Most countries start the competition with the resource endowment and advantageous labor force with the low-end value chain.The developed country led companies usually set the technology spillover within a safe range which makes the developing countries hard to really achieve the upgrade of manufacturing industry by participating in the international division.Those two factors increase the possibility of the developing countries to be trapped into "low-end lock".Under the above,with the manufacturing industry in GMS as the study object,using the panel data of manufacturing industry about Yunnan,Guangxi of China,Thailand and Vietnam in 2002,2007 and 2012 respectively,measuring the index and analyzing the relationship of GVC and SVC of GMS region.The regression model is established to explore the major factors to influence on the manufacturing industry in GMS region to build in global production network to improve the development level of the manufacturing industry and drive the industrial upgrade thus to better build in global production network and provide suggestions It is indicated that the value chain in GMS region is positively correlated to global value chain;namely the development of regional value chain could promote GMS region better embed the global production network.The study also indicates that domestic capital rate,profit-tax rate and openness hinder the development of the manufacturing industry in GMS region to certain extent and reduce its built-in extent in the global production network.The improved capital labor rate will drive further development of the manufacturing industry in GMS region and promote the embedding extent in the global production network.For this,from the perspectives of its own development,regional integration and participating in the international division for GMS region,it is proposed some suggestions about driving the development upgrade of the manufacturing industry in GMS region,improving division in global production network and realizing the high-end value chain.
