| With the formation of a global value chain, the international division of labor system continues to deepen. The traditional mode of division of labor is based on various economies’ differences of the resource endowments, thus forming a division of labor model between industries and industries.Technological progress brought by the technological revolution makes the division of labor within products possible, then developing countries can have more opportunities to participate in the international division. The degree of vertical specialization in global manufacturing continues to deepen. As one of the regions with the most active multilateral and regional cooperation in the world, the Asia-Pacific region has a relatively large degree of development in various economies. Therefore,it is possible to form vertically specialized divisions of industries for industrial transfer and industrial upgrading among different countries. This paper takes the formation and development of the Asia-Pacific region’s production network as the background to study the interaction between the production network in the Asia-Pacific region and the international division of labor, and explores the division of labor status of Chinese manufacturing within the regional production network. It also examines the impact on China’s manufacturing industry in the international division of labor by participating in the Asia-Pacific regional production network through empirical models. This study finds that in the process of rising manufacturing value chains in various economies, economies in the back-end of the value chain show faster speed of growth and deeper integration of production networks;from the perspective of the distribution of output value of various industries,China’s high-tech manufacturing The industry output value is the highest, and the proportion of low-tech and high-tech manufacturing output value is relatively low.The whole industry presents a middle and small spindle structure. From the perspective of industrial changes, the development speed and potential of China’s emerging and high-end manufacturing industries are higher than traditional manufacturing. The industry showed a trend of industrial upgrading and structural optimization. The empirical results show that participating in the Asia-Pacific regional production network is conducive to improving the international division of labor status of China’s manufacturing industry, and the impact is very significant. |
