Research On The Formation Mechanism Of The "technical Development Trap" Embedded In The Manufacturing Industry In Western My Country In The Global Production Network

Bringing opportunities and challenges for the development of technology in western China in global production network.On the one hand,as a backward area can obtain faster economic growth and technological progress by asymmetric technology spillover effect in western China.On the other hand,that may impede its own technological progress in global production network,making own are caught in technology development trap.Based on the existing researches,this paper combines the development status of manufacturing enterprises in the western China and explores in depth the formative mechanism of the “technological development trap” in the process of global production networks.In order to achieve the research objectives,the core content of this paper includes four parts:Firstly,making a statistical description of western manufacturing enterprises' status quo about global production networks and technical development situation based on statistical data,discovered that the global production network has gradually increased its gradient transfer to western China,manufacturing industry is the focus area of foreign direct investment,and the development of technology has steadily increased,but it still lags behind the eastern and central regions.Secondly,estimating the status of the technical development trap about manufacturing enterprises western China in global production networks based on endogenous technology progress model.The results show that there are no obvious signs of falling under the perspective of direct technological progress,and there is a phenomenon of technical development traps from the perspective of indirect technological progress.Once more,with the aid of new economic geography model to perform theoretical analysis and empirical test from the perspective of direct technological progress,studies indicate market size and technological endowment are benefit to the improvement of direct technological advancement,and trade freedom has no significant effect on its promotion.Finally,using the endogenous technology enterprise behavior model to analyze in depth the possible formation mechanism of the technology development trap from the perspective of indirect technological progress,constructing frontier production function to triple decompose Total Factor Productivity,empirical test results show global production networks,technological gaps,the ability to learn and absorb advanced technologies,and the ability of independent innovation in the region may all lead to the formation of technical development traps.In order to avoid the low-level lock in technical development trap,both the government and enterprises must constantly improve the management mechanism,optimize foreign economic policies,cross the technology development trap,and use the opportunities of the global production network to upgrade their technological development level.
