Research On The Impact Of Construction Workers' Work Stress And Safety Climate On Safety Performance

In order to improve safety performance, the construction enterprises gradually increase the investments of “hardware”, for example, the safety equipment and engineering technology, but still did not reach the ideal security effect. Therefore, the influence of "software" on the safety performance of enterprises has become a research focus in recent years, and in many of the environmental factors that affect the safety performance, the "safe atmosphere" is the most prominent. Research also suggests that construction workers' working pressure and the psychological state are also connected with safety behavior closely, thus being bound to affect the safety performance. However, so far there is little research which combines safety climate of organizational level with working pressure of individual level to discuss the impact on safety performance.First of all, this study is based on the extensive literature reading, the integrated use of investigation method and technical means for construction enterprises to design the questionnaire of the construction enterprise safety-related latent variables, and goes on expert argumentation and test on a small scale, then the author give out and collect a large number of questionnaires(give out 400 copies and effective recovery 341) in Shenzhen construction enterprises. Secondly, based on the collected sample data to summarize and refine item by the methods of item analysis, exploratory factor analysis and so on, and use the SPSS19.0 software to test reliability and validity of scale, then confirm reliability and validity of the structure, identify the scale of the construction enterprise safety-related latent variables contains 24 item, these scales respectively corresponding to critical factors such as the work stress and safety climate, it straightens out the correlation among work stress, safety climate and safety performance, then puts forward the research ideas and assumptions to create a conceptual model. At the same time, using the structural equation model software AMOS21.0 to test the conceptual model and empirical research, quantified the influence of work stress and safety climate to safety performance.Research indicates that the safety climate of the construction enterprise has a positive effect on safety participation and safety compliance, and safety climate effects on the safety participation is greater than it effects safety compliance, and work stress of construction workers has a negative effect on safety participation and safety compliance, the improvement of work stress has a negative effect on safety performance. This paper also puts forward reasonable suggestions for reducing employee stress, creating a good safety climate and the focus on employee safety participation behavior.
