Food is the material basis for our human beings to live on, so food security is bound up with not only our health but also the social stability. Food security supervision is a very important index which reflects the social management level. At present, the situation of food security is generally stable but not optimistic. Take the foodservice industry as an example, which is the end of all the links in the food security system. Therefore, all the risks from the upstream links are pooled here to cause food security problems. The foodservice industry has always been the emphasis and difficulty for all food security supervisors. It is crucial for enhancing the level and efficiency of government regulation to study the inadequate supervision and explore the establishment of the foodservice industry supervision system. At present, The main problems of government regulation of the foodservice industry include: high pressure of law enforcement for regulators, a lack of personnel and transportation, narrow coverage and imperfect methods of food sample testing, existing flaws in the legal and regulatory system, disordered internal administrative control, uneven quality of employees, poor government guidance, a lack of constraints on the foodservice industry from consumers, industry associations and media. In this paper, take Yibin as an example to elaborate the current situation and problems of the foodservice industry supervision, and causes of these problems. Based on the study of the foodservice industry supervision system from advanced countries, the author brings up some suggestions to solve the current problems, such as improving supervision and management operational mechanisms, refining the ways and technology of monitoring food security, enhancing the food safety management awareness and the risk warning construction, developing a platform of informational supervision, and helping consumers and industry associations play their roles of supervision.
