Research On The Promotion Of Maker Space Service In University Libraries

Makerspace is a working place offered by a community or library,where people can share information related to computer,science and electronic technology.In other words,it is a place where people put their creative mind into practice,given their common hobby and interests.The integration of Makerspace into college libraries is conducive to the rational distribution of resources and serves as the inspiration of Makers' creative mind.Promoting Makerspace elsewhere constitutes an essential prerequisite for the construction of such a working place inside college libraries.In this essay,our primary subject is how Makerspace has been promoted.By means of research methods such as website investigation and SWOT analysis,this study proposes some strategies for promoting Makerspace in China's various college libraries.Our study takes the following perspectives: a)the current situation where Makerspace is popularised and constructed in foreign countries;b)what lessons we can learn from the Makerspace in the rest of the world;c)the current condition of college libraries in China.The study will contribute to enhance the service and quality of library Makerspaces,thereby carrying out a piece of constructive work to the cause of creating college Makerspaces in China.
