With the improvement of the economic level and the status of China in the world,the world shows growing concern for this country,and the media have gradually shown a strong interest in China.Hence,thanks to the global influence and profession,the people all over the world think the real China is same as the Chinese national image that the western media shape.However,based on the differences between the ideology of the east and the west and the prejudice,it is significant to study whether the image of the Chinese media conforms to the actual image of China,and it is also important to the study the image of China's international image creation and external communication.Economist is a British political and economic magazine which was founded in 1843.The articles in this magazine were humorous and powerful,although the paper media was suffering from the impact of the electronic media,the global circulation of Economist in 2015 still can be maintained at 1.6 million copies,ranked in the top of the magazine.This magazine focuses on the global perspective,it is sold to North America,Europe,Asia,and its reports are not limited to the United Kingdom or Europe.As for the magazine column settings,some main columns are set by regions,and in 2012 it opened up the Chinese column.Therefore,considering the width of radiation of both readers and reports,the Economist is very suitable as a sample of this study.Therefore,this paper chooses more than one hundred articles of the China Column of Economist in 2015 as samples to analyze and applies the content analysis and frame analysis,and analyzes the distribution of topics and the tendency,from the microcosmic to macrocosmic.As the result,it concludes that China's overall shape in the China column of Economist is still negative,and has little deviation with its real image,and analyzes how China should deal with this deviation.
