Beixin Press was founded in 1925,and it was an offspring of Renasissance Club of Peking University.As a typical medium-sized private publishing house in the period of the Republic of China era,the publication process of Beixin Press was very unique.This research aims to explore the role and influence of Beixin Press in publishing industry in modern China from the perspective of publishing history.And also,this research hopes to show the diversity of Chinese 20 th century publishing industry form,including the development of Chinese social,political,economic,cultural changes and cultural publishing industry at that time through the study of Beixin Press.The preface of this article elaborates the present situation of studying Beixin Press,existing historical materials of Beixin Press,and research significance,ideas and innovations.In the first chapter,through the arrangement and summarization of historical materials,the article will show the historical development of Beixin Press in a more detailed way,and strive to restore the establishment,development,heyday and decline of Beixin Press.In the second chapter,the article further analysis the publishing types and characteristics of Beixin Press,overview the colourful publications of Beixin Press,and analyzes the characteristics of the three publishing types of Beixin Press which is new literature publishing,popular literature publishing and education publishing.In the third chapter,through the analysis of the types and characteristics of the publications,the article summarizes two characteristics of the publishing business of Beixin Press which is the personnel arrangement centered on Lis’ family and the article explains the reasons of rise and decline of Beixin Press.This article believes that rise and decline of Beixin Press influence by the time change,social development,economic constraints,business decision-making and other factors.Beixin Press rise in prosperous of the New Culture Movement,but because of social and economic constraints,leading to its ultimate demise.In addition,this article has an appendix which detailedly arrange a book list which Beixin Press published,that shows the whole picture of publication of Beixin Press.
