The Positioning And Identification Of One-dimensional Barcodes For RMB Banknotes

Today, with the increasingly developed science and technology, bar code, as a kind of advanced automatic input code of computer data, has been widely applied. In this project, bar code was applied to the circulation management of RMB banknote.In this project , the pictures that contain bar code of packing banknote were taken via mobile devices. Firstly, through digital image processing method, the packing banknote picture was preprocessed so as to improve picture quality and reduce and eliminate noise. Secondly, through edge detection, mathematical morphology, and tag screen connected domain, the automatic positioning and segmentation of the bar code area was realized. Thirdly, Hough transform was conducted on the segmented bar code area to detect linear operation and the segmented bar code area was corrected based on the tested angle of inclination. Fourthly, aiming at the problems such as low quality of bar code picture shot by terminals, and the fuzzy bar code picture, grey value bar projection curve method and similar edge distance measurement algorithm were put forward. Finally, the reading and decoding of bar code of packing banknote are achieved.Finally, the pictures of bar codes of packing banknote under different shooting conditions were processed through the positioning recognition algorithm proposed in this paper. Experimental results showed that bar code positioning tends to be wrong when the bar code background area became more complex due to adverse shooting conditions. To solve the problem, the paper used closure operation and the change of the binarization threshold, which made the corresponding improvement on the automatic positioning algorithm of bar codes of packing banknote so as to enhance the automatic positioning accuracy of bar code and also make the positioning recognition algorithm of bar code of packing banknote in the project become more perfect.
