Nowadays, with the fast development of mobile communication industry and the rapid popularization of GPRS networks, the research, development and application of a new field, new industry and new technologies has gradually become a trend. And, it is a kind of very effective method of remote communication that using GPRS network as a smart home security monitoring system of wireless remote telecommunication of information transmission medium. For infinite remote communication system based on GSM/GPRS network, it is convenient to network, strong real-time and has high confidential security, fast data transfer rate, is charged by the amount of data transferred. And, using the existing GSM/GPRS network which has after long-term use that has stably performance, is no need to maintain them, can communicate and do not need to form a special network. In addition, GPRS network uses the packet-switched communication mode.In this way, the user’s data transceiver and possession has no fixed relationship between channel. Channel resource shares that make full use of the channel resources. Moreover, by the high coverage of GSM/GPRS networks and the realization of the global roaming and applications, compared with the traditional security monitoring system, its advantages is obvious as a result.This paper designs a kind of anti-theft and monitoring system for the smart home based on GPRS networks. It can fully meet people’s urgent need such as real-time and the lag query monitoring and controlling, a timely manner to deal with emergency and emergency under effective control and alarm of the intrusion behavior in the surveillance zone of one’s home. Using the existing GSM/GPRS networks, it can realize the system operation of the terminal in the form of remote control such as monitoring, alarm, security monitoring operation. Besides, based on the NAS system, data center of a family can achieved within the family home on protection area before of storage and query of intrusion behavior, for example, when a person has entered the protection area. NAS systems, namely network-attached storage, is an equipment which offers a variety of web services, can serve the center of the network computer, mobile phone, tablet, etc by providing file download, file access, data backup and file sharing service through the LAN or WAN as a cost-effective resources application center. NAS devices are assigned an IP address, so it can access or direct access to the NAS devices through the gateway servers. So the NAS system installation position can be attached on the router or separate out As a result, security is greatly increased. To sum up, this paper studies of the system design can be implemented within the family home on protection of regional security monitoring and maximize meet the current residentials’ increasingly rising humanization requirements.This article mainly explains the system from the following several aspects: at first, the paper discusses the topic time background and significance of the design, the research status of smart home at home and abroad. On the basis of this, the technology of GSM/GPRS network, the NAS system is demonstrated in detail, and then introduces the overall thought, design scheme and working principle of the system. The hardware design of the system are also discussed in detail, and it also introduces the realization of the function of system management, the system test method, through standard and solved problems, etc.In this article the system emphatically explains detailed the design of the system terminal control module, the design of the power supply module, the peripheral module design, the design of external circuit design and so on. From two aspects of hardware design and software management, it illustrates the function and application method of the whole system.From repeated testing and the practical application, it can be proved that this smart home anti-theft and monitoring system can fully meet the expected requirements of function and application. This design runs stable, has comprehensive and reliable performance which can fully meet the actual installation application needs of the average household.
