With the progress of human civilization and development of economy, the living environment is at a increasingly demand. So the smart home has become the inevitable trend of digital home technology. In this paper the researches of low-cost, smart and simple embedded system have been focused, which uses the GSM/GPRS networks and portable terminals, such as mobile phone, to remote monitor house environment.Firstly, the development of the domestic and foreign smart home is described in this paper. Then the research significance, background and design of the whole system solutions are given. The overall of smart home control system is introduced.According this the hardware platform is set up,including:the embedded system main board based on STM32F103design, GPRS wireless communication module, abnormal monitoring module based on OV7725CMOS, household lighting control module, etc.Secondly, the security-monitoring for indoor environment using the serial port camera is also researched, which is based on background subtraction, background updating regularly or in conditions, abnormal target tracking shooting method. And this is suitable for the application of the embedded platform, verified by simulation experiments.Thirdly, the embedded system platform is established with μC/OS-Ⅱ, μC/GUI and STM32F103MCU. The photos monitoring based on MMS, the remote control based on SMS, the control of servo motor and latern light are also discussed.Finally, the full content is summarized in the paper and insufficiency and the immensity of the subject are analyzed.
