Since the<Compulsory Education Geography Curriculum Standard(2011 Edition)>issued,the new version of junior high school geography textbooks has been a hundred schools of thought,and it also has been a hot topic to study the various geography textbooks in the background of the new curriculum.As an important information carrier in the course of curriculum implementation,textbooks can help students to complete the learning task and achieve teaching objectives under the guidance of teachers.The arrangement of the textbook is very important for the transformation of teachers'teaching notion and teaching methods and students understand the textbook on the process of the New Curriculum Reform.So,specializing in the similarities and differences between different editions of textbooks after the promulgation of the new curriculum standards not only can theoretically enrich the research system and teaching theory of geography,but also can further promote the preparation of geography textbooks,teachers to deal with the textbooks and students to make use of the textbooks in practice.This paper is guided by the theories of Communication theory,Systematics,Pedagogy and Psychological theory.It comparatively explored and studied the inner features of the surface systems and the association class between the different systems of the Grade eight's geography textbooks of PEP edition and Hunan Education Edition by statistical methods,comparative analysis methods and content analysis methods,and summed up the following conclusions:(1)For the text system:the contents arrangement of the PEP textbook is in full compliance with the requirements of the New Curriculum Standards.Hunan Education Edition has more than 6 sections,nevertheless,the introduction of natural disasters in China is not comprehensive enough.PEP textbook is very clear from the contents to the chapters.Teaching guide of Hunan Education Edition is a more comprehensive section of beautiful text,in the text,there are many enlightening teaching instructions for students to understand the knowledge.The text of the PEP is more general and logical,and the reading materials are more academic.The text of Hunan Education Edition is more interesting and in detail,and the reading materials are colorful,vivid and fitting the daily life of students.(2)For the image system:Hunan Education Edition focus on image design and image use,especially the use of geographical landscape maps and maps,the quality of the image,color matching and layout design are better than PEP textbook;what kind of images use frequently in PEP is the geographical landscape and geographical map,it e emphasis on the combination of graphics as well as the combination between the nested combination.(3)For the activity system:the activity system of PEP textbook is biased towards problem analysis and solution,language expression and logical thinking;the activity system's total number of Hunan Education Edition is larger,and the types are diverse and varied,it pays more attention to the cultivation of students' ability in all aspects and contains a greater amount of knowledge,furthermore,it is more closely linked with teaching.(4)On the correlation of the surface system between two versions:PEP textbook emphasis on the presentation of the graphics combination with text and it is directional clarity.There are more cases of graph substitute text and many activities with images in in Hunan Education Edition textbook,its teaching function is obvious and the activities are closely linked with life.Most PEP textbook's activities have summary features and activities are after the text;the activities of Hunan Education Edition are set before and after the text,it bears a greater amount of teaching task than PEP and the system is more closely linked with each other.(5)Teaching suggestions for the surface system of the Grade eight's geography textbooks are as follows:First of all,in the process of teaching text system,we should emphasize the use of teaching guide language,enrich the expression of classroom language and choose a variety of auxiliary materials.Besides,we should pay more attention to the timely update of the geographical image,image quality and variety,focus on the combination of image and graph substitute text in the process of teaching image system.Last but not least,we should improve operability and strengthen innovation and interdisciplinary integration of the activity system,at the same time optimize the number and distribution of activity.The revelation of the junior middle school geography teaching application strategy we get is that we should make full use of the geographical image,pay attention to the teaching process into daily life and attach importance to the cultivation of geographical practical skills.
