The Application Of Structural Family Therapy In The Conflict Resolution Of The Main Family

This paper took a stem family as the research object,and the purpose of its study is to discuss how to solve conflicts and contradictions between the grandparents and their parents of stem families on the problems of offspring nurture,and to help the family to solve the problems and restore their functions.Structural family therapy was main method in this research,including defining the roles and responsibilities of the family,establishing the boundaries of the subsystems and an effective communication mode and helping it to create a new structure and relationship.Through family members' self-assessment and evaluation and social workers' assessment of changes in family members and family structure,social workers' action can make the family have a profound and lasting change,develop the ability of the family.The main conclusions of this study are as follows: firstly,Chinese cultural traditions and practice have produced a large number of main families,while the wide applicability of structural family therapy and its unique perspective and effectiveness for dealing the contradiction in the main families together determine that the structural family therapy has a strong vitality in China.Secondly,structural family therapy should follow a five-step mode that includes getting in the family system,establishing professional relationship,assessing family structure,finding out the pathological points and make family plans,drawing up the blueprint of action,promoting family changes,establishing a new family structure and exiting the family and so on.Thirdly,in the process of applying structural family therapy,family impedance and uncertainty of structure exploration process are great challenges for social workers.This study puts forward four suggestions on the application of structural family therapy to the stem family parenting.First,it is necessary for social workers to strengthen the learning of professional knowledge and skills related to structural family therapy and to master the skills of operation skillfully.This is the basis for developing the correct judgment ability for family structure and getting the good effect of intervention.Second,the training of a keen perceptive ability for family interaction is necessary too,because the family structure is invisible rules and is hidden in the interaction of the family members,which need a good ability to catch them.Third,A social worker should be good at grasping the key characters in the family and make them become alliance of social workers.If so,the process of joining family and promoting family change will become smooth and effective for the support from key figures.Fourth,we should flexibly apply various methods according to the actual situation.The specific methods and techniques of Satir family therapy and narrative family therapy will solely and together help social workers improve the utility of structural family therapy.
