| The purpose of this study is to explore the cultivation of junior middle school students’ability to design appreciation. At present,the middle and primary school design education in our country is hidden in the art curriculum, and there are some errors in the design education. For example: the design education is mainly based on skill training and the cultivation of junior middle school students’ ability of design appreciation has not been paid enough attention. According to the current situation and problems of design education in the middle and primary school in our country, the researcher combines the theoretical discussion with the empirical reflection, and carries out the theoretical framework from three sides: the value of cultivating students’ ability of design appreciation in junior middle school, goal setting and the content selection. Besides, this paper also carries out the teaching practice of junior middle school students’ ability of design appreciation through action research. It discusses on teaching methods and strategies of junior middle school students’ ability of design appreciation in teaching practice: and analyzed their ability of design appreciation, which in order to promote researcher’s own experience in the process of action research and to improve the professional ability.The researcher carried out a series of design appreciation teaching activities in the 7th grade of a middle school in Qingdao. With two themes: The Design of Tourist Souvenirs in Qingdao and My Ocean Theme Store, the researcher designed and implemented the teaching process in 2016. The adjustment and correction of the action plan in continuous process follow action research plan,implementation, monitoring and evaluation of action and reflection in action research. And the purpose of this action is to explore the teaching design of junior middle school students’ ability of design appreciation,as well as to develop the teaching strategies and evaluation methods of their ability of design appreciation.Through the analysis of the effectiveness of junior middle school students’ ability of design appreciation, this paper concluded that: the appreciation of the design study enhanced the interest of students in design learning and enabled them to understand the basic characteristics of the design. What’s more,this dissertation also had benefit to the understanding of the relationship between design and daily life.The conclusion of this paper can be divided into three parts. Firstly, in the aspect of teaching design, teachers should choose the theme and works which are suitable for junior middle school students, and the theme of design appreciation should include the main categories and design styles as much as possible.Adapt the teaching method which begins with appreciation and follows creation. Secondly, teachers should encourage students to discover the beauty of design with their own unique vision and integrate art criticism to develop design appreciation teaching in their teaching progress. They also can guide students to use a variety of sensory to understand the design work and make full use of a variety of teaching resources in the process of design appreciation. Lastly,the middle and primary school should provide opportunities for art teachers to communicate with experts and scholars in design. It can strengthen teachers’ learning of design theory and art appreciation. And the active cooperation with the higher design colleges and universities also needs considering. |
