| In China, the art education is undergoing a revolution from "Examination-Oriented Education" to "Quality-Oriented Education". According to its history, the art education is developing simultaneously with the evolution of human culture and civilization on the world. As a comprehensive discipline, art is strongly correlated with other disciplines. From teaching art, not only should we train our students the drawing skills and techniques, but also teach them all sorts of abilities to help their comprehensive development both physically and mentally. It’s necessary for art education to root on both social requirement and individual potential, and to combine humanistic and technique as an entity. According to artist Cheng,’aesthetic education is not simply the education of art skills, but ultimately the education that trains people’s response as a whole.1Based on the importance of skill-based education, an enhancement of cultural quality education will make art education more significance in comprehensive development and training qualified artists.This article followed the new curriculum standards of art, the text books and in-class practice. It is based on ’design-application’study area and targeted on training students’ practical abilities. According to ’people-oriented’ ideology, art education and other disciplines were combined. In this article a special perspective was shown in the topic choice and the content, which combined with the continuously developing society as well as the students’ distinct personalities. This article had its significance in ’design-application’ study area, especially in the topic about practical abilities affecting student comprehensive development, and discussing how to improve the effect of middle school art’ design-application’ study area on students’ practical ability. |
