A Hair Analysis System Was Used To Evaluate The Clinical Study Of Androgenetic Alopecia Lotion On Androgenetic Alopecia

Androgenetic alopecia(AGA)is a common skin disease in clinic.It is also named"hair-decay ringworm" in traditional Chinese medicine or "seborrheic alopecia" in modern medicine.AGA has a long course and is difficult to cure.The main AGA manifestation is hair loss in or after puberty.For male,AGA generally occurs at frontal angle with receding hairline.For female,it commonly occurs at the top of head without receding hairline.AGA also exhibits additional manifestations such as thinning and softening hair,itchy scalp,increased dandruff and increased oil secretion.AGA has little influence on health.However,AGA shows strong negative impact on youth mental health and appearance,especially in some social activities such as dating and works.In recent years,increased life stress enhances the risk of AGA.Hence,it is urgent to develop more effective methods and medicines in clinic to treat this disease.Although different kinds of method for AGA have been developed,there is some limitations and side effects respectively.In this study,we adopted an empirical recipe of clinical AGA treatment.The Yufa Quxie Lotion were prepared in external dosage form,which is more easily accepted and long-term adhered by patients with relative low side effects.We investigated the curative effects and safety of lotions for the participants and made efforts to develop an additional external applied Yufa Quxie Lotion for AGA.My study includes two chapters:Chapter 1(literature review):Review 1 summarized the drugs and new methods in traditional Chinese and moderm medicine for AGA.Review 2 discussed the widely use of trichoscopy in AGA diagnosis.The typical and special signs exhibit different meaning in AGA course and are significant for diagnosis,therapy and prognosis for AGA treatment.Chapter 2(experimental study):Experimental objective:By using hair analytical system,the variations of hair shaft and scalp in target region are compared between experiment and control group.The clinic effects and safety are objectively valued for AGA by the treatment of Yufa Quxie Lotion.Experimental method:A random,single-blind parallel study was conducted.45 participants were randomly divided into experiment and control group and under clinical observation in 6 months.The participants in experiment group received Yufa Quxie Lotion and those in control group received lotion without traditional Chinese medicine.During treament,the participants were required for follow-up visits at the end of each month after the next 6 month.The writing of case reports and trichoscopy detection were conducted for each follow-up visit.After 6 month of observation,the clinical effects of Yufa Quxie Lotion for AGA were valued by analyzing symptomatic improvement after treatment,variations of hair mutation rate and symptoms observed in trichoscopy and safety of the lotion.Experimental results:1.The total of hair shaft:? in treatment group,the total of hair shaft at the frontal angle area decreases after treatment(P<0.05)showing statistical significance.The total of hair shaft at the Baihui and headspin area shows no obvious change after treatment(P>0.05)indicating no statistical significance;? in control group,the total of hair shaft exhibits no obvious change after treatment(P>0.05)showing no statistical significance;? the growth rate at frontal angle area,Baihui and headspin area is invariable between treatment group and control group respectively(P>0.05)showing no statistical significance.2.Hair mutation rate ? in treatment group,the P value of the frontal angle area,Baihui point area and headspin area are all less than 0.05 before and after treatment,which means the data have statistical significance.However,the mean value in frontal angle area before treatment is less than that after treatment,suggesting an increase of lanugo after the use of the shampoo.The hair mutation rate decreases after the treatment at Baihui point area and headspin area.?in control group,the P value of the frontal angle area is larger than 0.05,showing no statistical significance.There is no obvious change before and after the treatment.The P value of the Baihui point area and headspin area are less than 0.05,exhibiting statistical significance.The hair mutation rate of Baihui point area and headspin area is increased after treatment.? After the comparison of the treatment and control group(P>0.05)showing no statistical significance.This result indicate that there is no obvious decrease in hair mutation rate for treatment group as compared with control group.The treatment can improve the symptom after the treatment in treatment group.3.Hair density:the P value of the variation of hair density at frontal angle area in treatment group is larger than 0.05,exhibiting statistical significance.There is no statistical significance for data in Baihui and headspin area.4.The symptom observed in trichoscopy:our Yufa Quxie Lotion shows curative effect for the fat granule but exhibit no obvious effect for white spot syndrome,presence of peripilar signs and scalp inflammation.Associated Symptoms:for epifolliculitis,the curative effect in treatment group is better than that in control group(P<0.05).The results for scalp itch and numbness show no statistical significance between treatment and control group data.Experimental conclusion:Yufa Quxie Lotion shows no obvious effect for increasing the number of hair.However,it may show positive effect for decreasing the hair mutation.The possible two means are as follows:?the shampoo accelerates the end of catagen phase;?the shampoo promote new hair growth,blackening and thickening the hair to improve the hair quality.Our shampoo shows no obvious effect for the symptom observed in trichoscopy(the fat granule,white spot syndrome,presence of peripilar signs and hemangiectasis)and other clinical symptom(scalp itch,numbness and hair color change).The shampoo shows low adverse reaction and high safety.
