Aviation safety is the primary task of developing aviation enterprises,so how to improve and ensure the safety performance of pilots have been the focus of aviation business managers and aviation psychologists.Therefore,the key objective of the study is to explore factors related that affect the safety performance of pilots.For individuals,family and job are two very important fields,and the two fields effect each other and even cause conflicts,which will become one of the most important sources of stress for pilots.As a special group,the family life and the work life of pilots are often isolated from each other,resulting in family-work conflict and negative emotions as a result of the nature of the flying work,which affects the performance of aviation safety.Also,some researchers have proposed that depressed job stress may affect the safety performance of pilots.Therefore,on the basis of previous studies,this paper explored the influencing mechanism of family-work conflict on the safety performance of pilots.In addition,this study introduced two concepts of personality traits and flight fatigue.On the one hand,we explored which kinds of personality traits play a moderating role in the impact of family-work conflict on the safety performance of pilots from the perspective of individual differences.On the other hand,we explored that the mediating role of flight fatigue in the impact of family-work conflict on the safety performance of pilots.This research adopted the work-family conflict subscale in the family-work conflict scales,the pilot’s safety performance scale,the Chinese version of Big Five Personality Inventory(TIPI-C)with 10 projects,and the Chinese version of the Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory(MFI-20)to conduct a survey of 171 civil aviation pilots who was selected randomly.IBM SPSS Statistics Version 19.0 and Amos17.0 were used to analyze the data,correlation analysis,process test,and structural equation modeling,and eventually we attained some conclusions as followed:1.There were significant differences in age,marital status,job status,flight experience and route type,while the route type was not significant different on the personality traits and the safety performance.2.There was a significant negative correlation between family-work conflict and safety performance,that is,the higher pilot detected the family-work conflict,the lower the safety performance.3.There was a significant positive correlation between the family-work conflict and flight fatigue,that is,the higher the family-work conflict of pilots,the higher the feeling of flight fatigue.4.There was a significant negative correlation between flight fatigue and the safety performance of pilots,that is to say,the safety performance of pilots could reduce with the increasing of flight fatigue.5.Flight fatigue played a partial mediating role between the family-work conflict and safety performance.6.The extraversion and conscientiousness of personality traits played a significant moderating role in the effect of the family-work conflict on the flight fatigue.7.The conscientiousness of personality traits played a significant moderating role in the effect of the family-work conflict on the safety performance.In summary,the conclusions of the research are:the family-work conflict will increase the pilot’s flight fatigue,reduce the safety performance,and the influencing mechanisms of the family-work conflicts on the safety performance are different for pilots with different personality traits. |
