Capitalism entered the period of rapid development in the middle of twentieth Century and the progress of science and technology freed people from the tedious work, with more free time, the alienation transferred from the field of production in which individual alienated by production relations to the field of everyday life, especially the consumer society which made a contribution to alienation. The pioneer architects began to reflect on the relationship between architecture and democracy, city, science and so on with the criticism of alienated society developed by Lefebvre and Situationist International,Yona Friedman proposed “Mobile Architecture” and “Spatial Town” at this time.He expressed his understanding of “Utopia” and the way of its construction in the book named “Utopies réalisables”in 1975 which used a sociology point instead of architecture. This paper will analysis the deep thought of the construction of Utopia which hidden behind the appearance of architecture. From the very beginning,he took architecture as a sociology,a way of communication and discussion and a technique that could help the individual to realize a better life.Friedman's sociological research can also be understood as his in-depth and theoretical development in terms of the mobility and variability in the field of architecture.Different from the surface active support of democracy and freedom, actually still continues the tradition of elite intellectuals,Friedman makes the discussion of individual base on such conditions, the individual has irreplaceable ability of thinking and behavior as well as subjecting to collective environmental restrictions as a community member.
